    Default Vegas Residents

    Any vegas residents out there?

Just booked New Year in Vegas and was wondering what the lowdown is?

Staying at Luxor cheap I know

Where to go? What to do?

    Where's the party?

Do we have to book a party at a lounge or club?

How do we VIP it up?

    All help greatly appreciated

Hmmmm not to late to change to the Planet Hollywood.......

I like the way the article seems to imply that its ok that one person got blown up, because it wasn't terror.

Nice perspective.....or maybe its the fireworks display starting early......

Boozer's right. The Luxor's cool, but it hasn't got the ideal location. You might be better off though, just in case you wanna take a break from the uberaction. Where you go and what you do depends entirely on what you're into. My friend went to TAO last new year's eve. She didn't book in advance, but I probably would have. If you want a VIP table at a club on New Year's eve, you're gonna be dishing out a lot of money, but if you're into clubbing, it'll be worth it.

    Cheers,

We are just looking for a party......sounds like it is the strip for the fireworks and a carry on, but it would be nice to have a place to go after.....so a club it is, prob playing banging dance sets rather than hip hop or rnb. And it looks like it will have to be walkable to/from the luxor. Any ideas or recommendations?

Pretty much resigned to everywhere being rammed, thats why I was asking whether its worth booking somewhere early.

Is there a useful listings guide for new year or is it too early?

strip resorts are huge properties, so 'walking distance' is not what it seems on the surface in vegas.

I know, been to vegas a couple of times, and probably consider a walk as far as the fashion show mall and back doable rat arsed....that may be made more difficult by the crowds.

Thanks for the links moza, I did a search on google and its just too goddam commercial nowadays

You *could* walk. But it's quite the walk. Esspecially with the kind of crowds we get on NY's. There is a tram system between a bunch of casinos. That might help you out a bit (it's free). They close the strip to traffic in the evening, so you won't be getting a cab or anything. If I was gonna walk...I'd start walking early, around like 5pm, and hang around in the more central casinos till everyone else started getting there. That way you get a chance to kick back for a bit after your walk, and before stuff starts happening, and you won't have to deal with trudging through hoards of people. Then just stay out as late as possible, cause again, if you leave early, you're gonna be leaving through that same hoard of people. If you DO wuss out early, and don't wanna get out the same way you came in, ask the casino staff for a backroad route. Just don't get raped.

As far as reccommendations, Mozabilly is also from Vegas, so go ahead click through her lovely assortment of links. ^

And yeah, book early. Not necissarilly THIS early. But early.
