Are either Jars of Clay or David Crowder Band going to open for them?
$5 for Snow Patrol is too much
haha ya ive seen a couple shows at the sb bowl....but really???? theyre THAT bad?
hmmm well thanks again guys...definitely a thinker but well see
I say yes! But I am an admitted Snow Patrolaholic (I have no shame in saying so either) so I may be biased. I'll be seeing them at the Greek in LA both nights as well as in Vegas. Like Amyzzz said they are great in more intimate settings, but they can also rock larger houses. It just depends on the the crowd really. They are definitely a band that feeds off of their fans energy. But if you can get pit, I'd say it's definitely worth it.

You check them out a live performance on AOL Music sessions. I don't have the exact link but I know it's in their archives! http://music.aol.com then on the tool bar there will be several options... one of them is sessions archive. I haven't looked at it in awhile but I'm sure it's still there.
^I'm a fairly decent driver, I promise.
^Agreed. I got pit for sure for the Vegas gig, not sure yet about the LA dates as I got them through PMC and they don't tell you till they send you your tix. But I've been on stage with Gary before so you really don't get much closer than that.

Didn't the Silversun Pickups open for them on their last tour?

Has anyone heard the new Snow Patrol album? Reviews have been fairly positive. I notice that every time Snow Patrol releases a new album, so does Keane. Coincidence? Personally, I am more into the new Kaiser Chiefs, Longwave and the Vines.
That's cool, I only mildly/tepidly like Snow Patrol.
I always catch snow patrol at troubadour when they come to town...they seem to like doing a small show there along with their larger shows in town.
Wow, old thread.
The new SP is probably my favorite of all the returning Brit/UK Imports' new albums this year. I was mildly let down with the new Keane and Travis albums, It took me forever to click with the last Coldplay, and I've yet to really even listen to the new Kaiser Chiefs record.
As for SP, I think A Hundred Million Suns is pretty frickin sweet. I was worried that after the commercial success they had with Eyes Open (Damn you Grey's Anatomy for over exposing Chasing Cars) I was worried that they would continue in that same vein and get too saccharine with the lyrics, but they've pulled back just enough so as not to give us all a toothache. Don't get me wrong there's still enough of Gary's romantic goo for anyone who wants it (Me!)…. Crack The Shuttersand The Planets Bend Between Us are prime examples, but there's enough depth of sound on the rest of the album to balance it out. So far I absolutely adore Golden Floorand the 17 or so minute long finale track The Lightning Strikewhich is really like 3 tracks neatly dovetailed together for our sonic pleasure. These two tracks seem to be the most progressive sounding of the album, along with Lifeboats, and they give you a good sense of where the band wants to go. With more upbeat tracks like Disaster Button and Take Back The City however the band has retained that fun poprock sound that is sure to have the masses bobbing along. I think this album sounds like a mix of everything I love about all their past albums, but without sounding like too much of a retread. I think unlike some of their contemporaries (Coldplay, Keane….. Who I also love, but not in the same way) Snow Patrol have the uncanny ability to maintain a sense of humor about themselves and their music and to not get too caught up in the sales/media/being the number one band in the world/creating some sort of "image" hype that has, for me at least, tarnished a bit of the shine I originally found in those aforementioned groups.
Also the album art is gorgeous! But I've always been a fan of the images the band have chosen to link to their music.
*That's my ever so slightly biased two cents*
