I know. But I'm basing this off relative stuff...I saw Kasabian there. They had major KROQ and other alt rock station play in the past. Mew and Hot Chip haven't really gotten that (to my knowledge. Again, I could be totally wrong). I know it's not thousands and thousands of people, but it just seems big for those acts for whatever reason.

Hot Chip has already played at Fonda in November. And then they played Coachella. It wouldn't make sense for them to play a smaller place. And LCD should probably be playing at Fonda, but (thankfully), they're doing a couple days at El Rey instead. Mix it up a bit. Everyone should play at El Rey. Including Daft Punk. Again.

Hot Chip has a large following for their live shows. The tent was packed this year during their set. First time I have been unable to snake in from the side at a tent show.

Yeah, LCD sold out the El Rey last time they played there, in '05, and they played the Avalon after that, with another sellout. They're just too cool to play a larger venue.

Jeez I dunno,...it would be hard to top the experience in the Sahara tent. The El Rey is tight and all, but damn... sat. was just rad.

But yea if you did miss them, go fucking see them, too much fun live.

They played the Majestic in Detroit on Monday night. I had never seen a band in consecutive weeks in my life but it was well worth it. The highlight of the show was "Yeah" (for me anyway).

Then as an extra bonus, Front Line Assembly was playing right next door, so I got to get my early 90's on after LCD.

Yeah, it's a good song but a terrible closer for a show. If they insist on playing it, maybe start with that, then light up the crowd for the rest of the show.

Yeah it was definitely the worst choice for a closer, thank god The Rapture came on afterwards or I would have had a prolonged funny feeling on my way to the campsite.
