Blonde Redhead and Arcade Fire reviews from this weekend

Saw Blonde Redhead in Toronto on Friday and Arcade Fire in Montreal on Saturday and it was a blast.

Two observations:

1) I love Blonde Redhead BUT didn't like the fact that they re-create several of their album effects in their live show simply by use of their soundman (like how Muse does). I would much prefer if they either left said effect out of the performance or at least had one of the band members on stage pushing a button or something to make that effect. (ex. when you can hear background vocals but no one's lips are moving) This doesn't take away from the fact, however, that it was a great show and I'd go see them again anytime.

2) Arcade Fire are a blast to see live. While this wasn't my fav performance that I've seen of theirs (their festival sets leave me more satisfied), you just can't beat those sing-a-long classics that get the whole crowd going. And Regine is my favorite member of the band - when she's not singing, she's just smiling her face off and having a good time.

I thought the drummer was the one that did all the add effects and samples. He has a synth or whatever by his drum kit so I know he at least does some of them.

potentially, but i was up pretty close and didn't notice him working any knobs or anything...

essentially, i don't want or need a live show to sound just like the album so little tricks like that just annoy me in the end...
