Yeah, although it was pretty easy to find outside of this message board. I was just wondering if Goldenvoice would be sending out an email for it too since that is LA Weekly's list. Oh well, Im sure at least someone here will find out about it and post it.

Anyone heard anything about Be The Riottt? Not that I'll get to go all the way up to SF, but last year's lineup really kicked ass (Asobi Seksu, Metric, Explosions in the Sky, Girl Talk).

Throw them some money to build an urban village.

or the MTA could drop off a few subway cars to party in

Yeah, maybe. If they do it in the same place they did last year, theres just not a whole lot of open area at all. The only place where you could really go to relax or sit down was the grassy area in front of City Hall. There was also a little plaza area in one of the buildings. I would rather have them spend more money to get more/better artists than put up some cute little set pieces.

Yes, money that can be spent booking Asobi Seksu, which can't be that much...

Beck's set was perfect last year.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

I would have traded the puppets for "Sexx Laws" or "Get Real Paid"

I thought those puppets sucked at first. Whoever was handling them really did a good job. Every little movement went along with the music.

Beck's set was weird, aside from the puppets. Most of it seemed like a medley of a lot of his songs, but didn't play the entire songs. I don't know, maybe the puppets threw me off. I wanted to hear some more stuff from The Information and less Guero.

I picked up a LA Weekly summer handbook a couple of weeks ago. It stated in the book that the announcment would be made in August.

My biggest complaint was that after Basement Jaxx (which I was upfront for).. I moved back, and couldn't see shit... The stage was really hard to see from a distance.

I really liked the spot, especially the little (actually big space, but no one was there) outside dance area.

The Knife are playing shows again. Could they be a possibility for Detour? I would hope so.

Hahahahahah, did you actually read the article? They're "playing" a show in an online virtual world/game.
