I know it's like in August.. but is anyone else hoping this festival comes back around this year? I thought last years was really good, and had a lot of fun. Basement Jaxx rocked it.

It was almost all artists who have played Coachella too..

its seriously so weird seeing downtown transformed like that. and i loved how there were like 6 major public events going on in downtown on that day. i think everyone in los angeles was downtown on october 7th, 2006.

I have been in Downtown exactly twice. Once was for Detour. The other time was for Arthur Nights at the Palace Theater. That venue was creepy as fuck. So I left after Bert Jansch.

Usually it's a $20 cover (unless you have a room there for the night) and the drinks are as expensive as any other hotel bar/trendy club in LA.

It's freaking awesome. They project movies across the street onto a neighboring building so you can watch them while lounging by the rooftop pool. The people vibe is kinda cheesy but the view is worth the $$.

Sometimes randomly the Standard has cool concerts. But they're never announced, which is dumb. It's a good place for drinks in the late afternoon, before it gets all velvet rope / bouncer-ish at night.

Oh yeah, LA Detour was dope last year. It's surreal seeing downtown transformed like that. Looking forward to seeing what they do with it this year.
