Get well soon.

I have not seen MMJ live. and I have seen Wilco about 6 times and they are hit-or-miss, can be awesome or awful. (well of the 6 they were only awful once)
Guy Forsyth of Asylum Street Spankers?
also
my new car has Sirius and I like what I've heard of LCD Soundsystem on Left of Center. I caught MIA at Coachella 05 and she was ok though you're right not exactly my cup of tea.
also I don't know who Willie Mason or Sound Team are.
I saw Steely Dan 2.0, I mean Wilco, twice, and they were underwhelming both times. Get them to play Summerteeth and I'll watch, otherwise, no.
How well do you know MMJ's music? If you have more than a passing familiarity then I'd certainly push you to that set. You've seen Wilco, you've been down that road. My Morning Jacket will melt your face. There, I've said it.
Yes. We've had this convo before when he played the Rhythm Room.
LCD would be a fine choice. I've never caught the Soundsystem but either choice should be fun and dancy.
Willy Mason is an acoustic guitar guy and the son of some folk singers. He's on Conor's Team Love label. I figure you'd like him; it's too bad he's playing so early. Here's him doing "Oxygen" at Glasto:
Sound Team are an indie rock band from Austin. I know of no YT videos to recommend and haven't caught them live but I'd like to. "Handful of Billions" is a fantastic song but the album isn't all as wonderful.
Also, you are lame.
shame on you ... I freakin' love that tune, it was fantastic live.
I may agree with that ... I'm shocked they were ok with releasing the set they played on DirectTV channel 101 (live concerts on that channel all the time, it's awesome) ... there set was pretty bad. But at 'chella, they were fantastic ... perhaps it's a "you had to be there" thing.
I just got my ticket for the Blonde Redhead/The National aftershow, so maybe I will be catching part of the PB&J act at ACL.
Also, I might be seeing White Stripes over AF, since I don't think I could see them again this year, and I don't plan to miss anything of Dylan's set on sunday because their aftershow.
I like Metric. I mean SOUNDteam. Do they have more than that one album out yet? I liked some of the songs on the one I heard.
Sam Sanford from soundteam is a good friend of mine. They did just release a new album "movie monster" last fall/spring. They put on a good show if you have the time. Not really a don't miss, but a good solid show.
My tentative ACL schedule/itineraries (subject to changes depending on stages locations - I might also take longer lunch/dinner if somebody is selling heavenly grilled chicken on stick over there):
Not really a fan of most what I'm planning to see - just checking! Who knows if it's going to full set or for just a song?
Day 1:
Jesse Malin -> Joseph Arthur & TLA -> break (already saw PY at Lolla, hmmmm?) -> Blonde Redhead -> Manchester Orchestra -> Crowded House -> not too excited in seeing LCD or M.I.A. (already saw LCD at Coachella and Lolla and M.I.A. at Lolla - do or see something else, hmmmmmmmm? take a food or chill in AT&T tent break again) -> Spoon (broke my heart to leave them at Lolla while they are still playing because Muse is about to play at another stage - need to watch & hear their full set this time; saw QOTSA at O2 Wireless) -> Gotan Project (one of my must-sees - missed and heard so much about 'em at Coachella among the peeps/new friends I met at the PSP airport) -> Bjork (The Killers suck & weak live, good job ACL! I can finally enjoy full set and end night of music with Bjork. But wait am not really a big fan, why I'm looking forward to this? I guess I love what I heard & saw @ Coachella)
Day 2
Willy Mason (am a big fan) -> Sound Team (liking what I'm hearing) -> break (eat power snacks/lunch at AT&T chill tent - hopefully they have one like in Lolla. I love free stuffs and sponsors, fuck yeah hypocrites! I don't need to bring the handy little AT&T fan from Lolla. lol -> wat, OMG, nothing interesting here again, whatever ... ? -> Andrew Bird (am not in Team Bandwagon neither did I forget that their latest is not perfect 10 but full set on this one!) -> Damien Rice (those who will see Blue October are committing suicide) -> not too excited in seeing Amy Winehouse but would I be taking a break again, maybe I just need to cancel my Austin trip and sell my ACL ticket, naaaaaah j/k, I know what to do here, great job ACL! -> MUSE -> go home, fuck AF & TWS, I've already seen the best & will be highlight of ACL '07 by this time, I'll go with full set of AF (it sucks that I might be seeing them from far distance again since I have to come from the other stage (oh wait there's a gap after MUSE and 1/2 of the festival peeps will go to TWS. AWESOME!); Underwhelmed by TWS at O2 Wireless (give them a second chance? I'm liking less and less their latest album and other old outputs)
Day 3
?/Yo La Tengo (saw them in their own show already this year + bits of them at Lolla) -> The National (ah, I want to see The Broken West but I'm defnitely going for the full set of The National; already saw STS9 at Lolla; Go me! -> break/chill at AT&T tent/? -> DeVotchka (really like Rodrigo y Gabriela and I saw them at Wembley Stadium opening for Muse and bits of them at Lolla but I never really understood and will not be joining the Team RyG Overhyped/Bandwagon) -> Midlake (Wow! 3 must-sees in a row. How far are stages from each other?) -> Lucinda Williams (make it 4 in a row; hate BP's 2nd album & their performance at Coachella '06 but for some reason I still want to see/check them out because ACL is not really into electronica/dance acts, I know but where's the party here?) - > Regina Spektor (my 3rd chance, went other ways at Coachella and Lolla) -> Wilco (I never really understood the appeal of My Morning Jacket live or in recorded music) -> Ghostland Observatory/The Decemberists (don't know - am not really sold on seeing GO again, they are good & entertaining live. The Decemberists is awesome in recorded CDs and probably good live in smaller indoor venues but I would like to give them second chance here after being disappointed at their Coachella performance) -> Bob Dylan & His Band (have to see & be on this one)
I would'nt be really seeing that many acts (lot of breaks and full sets) so it's probably not going to be as tiring and hectic as in Coachella and Lollapalooza. Hopefully, the weather will be nice by that time so I could check other bands (i.e, if I'm the ones am planning to see suck or so boring live) am not familiar with early in those 3 days.

Stoled it y'all.

You just got stoled.
Cold War Kids take Amy Winehouse's spot after she cancelled all of her Sept. shows.
You should go see MMJ, you know Mr. Tweedy will be late and drunk.
Yeah I'm pretty sure I have decided to see MMJ. I don't have any interest in hearing any Sky Blue Sky songs and I watched the One Big Holiday performance on Conan about 8 times yesterday. Nevertheless, I just sent ACL an email telling them they were douches and fat and smelled unpleasant.
Are you guys going to party together? And stuff.
I like it. It's not my favorite shit in the world, but it's a smart, funny show.
P.S. I'm gay
I wish I was rich...or lived in or near Texas...or had unlimited free time...or all of the above
I'm down to meet up at the fest. There are at least 3 groups of people I have to see over the weekend. I am popular because I am filled with jewels.
the TV show looks good this season. It starts in early october and will include the following acts.
Arcade Fire
Decemberists
Bloc Party
Wilco
Regina Spektor
EITS
Lucinda Williams
Crowded House
Norah Jones
Feni Kuti
Paolo Nutini
Ghostland Observatory
Old Crow Medicine Show
John Mayor
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
I'll be there, is anyone going to any of the after-shows?
Thur - Gotan Project
Fri - STS9 Live
Sat - STS9 Live PA
Sun - Undecided.
Oh shit that's going to be miserable.
EDIT: Actually, that's a lot cooler than I thought it would be. I'll take the rain if it means it's not 100 ℉.
