    Default The Gaslight Anthem

So, who's heard much of The Gaslight Anthem? They were e-music's #1 album for 2008 and I just downloaded it and it's stroking my Springsteen/Hold Steady jones. I'm guessing many will find it boring or too patently trying to sound like Springsteen - but the effortlessness of this and the lyrical competence of the singer/songwriter is hard to resist.

I listened to that song and it didn't do it for me. They remind me of new Rise Against, at least their singers voice does.

They opened up for Rise Against a couple months ago.

With that being said, this is the first time I have listened to them and I have heard a lot about them. The lead singer sounds nothing like Rise Against. I kinda like this actually.

I checked them out a couple of months back after hearing the Springsteen comparisons, but they really didn't do anything for me.

I can't stop listening to this album, personally. I might have to include this in my 2008 list.

I am totally digging this record, but I am a huge Hold Steady fan as well. Good stuff.
