It's just a place to sleep. I stayed there once. It was passable.

    1. I asked if they sold tooth brushes, they said the vending machine sold them. It stole my money. The guy at the front desk didn't care and said I couldn't get a refund and that I could walk to the nearest store for all he cared.

    2. I asked for a do not disturb sign, the front desk said, "We don't do DO NOT DISTURB".

    3. They forgot the towels and the front desk got annoyed I asked for some.

    4. When I called again he answered, "YEAH 108, what the hell!!??!?"

So just sleep there and don't expect much.

I feel like there has been a thread every year about how horrendous this hotel is. I stayed there one year, and posted my experiences in a similar thread one or two years back.

I stayed at the Washington Ave Motel 6 last year (after reading JustSteve's recomendations..thanks!) and it was perfect. The showers are awesome for a motel and it was close yet just far enough away and relatively quiet.

We already booked for April 15-19 and noticed that they are already charging a bit more for that weekend than other weekends that month.

The Motel 6 on Indio Blvd had a reputation for illicit behaviors occuring years ago. Think of "OneStop Shopping" so to speak. They may have cleaned it up, but the area around it is still iffy as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure they're aware of this and probably provide more security that weekend in order to protect the company's name and reputation. BTW...The light they leave on at the Indio Blvd. Motel 6 is "red." (Food for thought...)

This Motel 6 is newer and probably not old enough to have walls that are soiled and able to talk yet. Definitely your better choice, I think!

I'm curious as to how much they jack their rates up for that weekend. I hate the way all these places take advantage of the festival goers like that!
Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

I cannot provide any personal experice about staying here. From my experience of picking friends up from this place, let's just say it's very ghetto and very hotel wrong. I remember a guy who was standing outside with a pair of shorts, no shoes or shirt, brushing their hair after getting out of the shower.

It was Cocahella camping, minus the tents.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Super 8 is closer to the venue than Motel 6, but I am sure it is already booked.
