all i know is that remix of imogen heap tiesto was fucking amazing. i want a bootleg and i want it now
Tiesto brought me into EDM big time when I saw him in 2002 at Coachella and then at Area2 twice.
Maybe if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have appreciated what Justice just did.
Best performances to date -
Daft Punk 2006
St. Germain 2001

this was my first coachella and my #1 reason for going WAS tiesto, and i was really amazed. i got the whole set on video.
why do people gotta be mean
Point is. The Main Stage is meant for real music- real musicians, and not some crappy DJ that mix records. If I wanted to hear mixed records. I'd go put on a DJ Shadow record from the comfort of my bedroom. How boring is itto stand there and watch a DJ. The only electronic-themed person that rocked the hell out of the Main Stage (with live instruments mixed) was Bjork. But Bjork is on her own planet, so lets not go there. But to have a DJ go on after the Chili Peppers.... blah- put his ass back in the Sahara tent.
Tiesto was fucking amazing. He did a great job and main stage was the perfect place for him. Such a good show. Underworld cant forget them.
what are all you guys talking about, Tiestos set was absolutely incredible.
I guess I just don't understand the whole "dance party" mentality. I know that mixing is a skill just like any other, but seeing him jump up and down and raising the roof was utterly hilarious. He looked so excited to be mixing it flawlessly. Of course, I was also stoned as all hell
Whatca Say - Whatcha Say - Whatcha Say - Wha?
obviously, you don't know shit about electronic music. obviously, you don;t realize that the sahara may have been the best stage this year. let's see:
damn, what an amazing year at the sahara.
Underworld> Prodigy> Chemical Brothers>= Daft Punk> Justice> Evil Nine> Soulwax> MSTRKRFT> Faithless> Infected> Sasha>= PVD> Tiesto
Tiesto was fun...somewhat cheezy... but fun. Its cool to dance in the middle of an open field with a bunch of people, to a killer sound system and lightshow. I thought it was a nice way to end the night.
Here's a short video i took...as you can see, people were having a good time.
Heres decent video from his last track from up front
The bass does kill my microphone, but you get the feeling of what's happening. The crowd is insane
And a 10 minute mix of his with video of the big screen and the crowd with better sound from the side of the stage.
The crowd goes nuts at the breakdown of this song
I go to shows and festivals.
Over 1000 youtube videos from concerts
whats all this "Tiesto sucked at coachella" bullshit? The ENTIRE crowd was going nuts for his entire set, and I didn't see that type of a reaction by the crowd for any of the other acts for the entire 3 days (except Rage of coarse). I wasn't much of a Tiesto fan until Coachella. By far the best act for the entire day of Saturday...and even though I fucking loved MSTRKRFTs set, they were also using computers in the same way that Tiesto was.
