I was a little disappointed with the setlist, but I thought Brian did quite well despite his recent Bronchitis....

Fuck Tiesto and his overblown schtick.

They were excellent. The show on the 26th was completely different though. They played a bunch of old songs and a slowed down version of Special Needs. Oh and marko, they are big in Europe and South America, just not here.
Suggestion: go see them at a small club where they have more time. You won't be disappointed.
i was a little sad that they didn't play any of the 20something songs i most wanted to hear. what luck huh? but i still thought they were amazing. brian looked a bit under the weather still at the signing, but he sang just fine.
also, did anyone else notice they only played for like 45 minutes?
yeh, ashtraygrl, it seemed shorter. I loved loved loved it though.
I olny caught the last half but I loved their set!
They did a great cover of Running up that Hill!
saw them @ the Fillmore a few days before Coachella, the 'chella set was just a trimmed version of that, so I was a bit bummed there were no changes. (Wish they had played "Follow the Cops Back Home" as they did in SFO)
Not mentioned, they also played "The Bitter End", which wsa awesome.
They left the stage 10 mins early, also disappointing.
Still, pretty fantastic (despite my grumblings) ...

This was technically my first "real" Placebo show, since the other time I went to see them their gear had been kept in customs after a show in Mexico. They had to borrow gear from their opening band (EAGLES OF DEATH METAL!) along with house gear from the HOB Anaheim to do the show. Great to see them come out with all the necessary tools this time.
Nevermind what I said. Their U.S. tour just ended. Maybe they'll be back around when the Clintons are back in the White House.
The setlist could have been better, but still it was fantastic!
I wasn't dissapointed in their performance at all but in what they played. Wish they had played "pure morning" but this just gives me more of an incentive on watching them again.
Never seen them before. It was a great set.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Blazed my last joint of the weekend during The Bitter End. Easily my favorite HIGH of Coachella.
I sat through the whole show thinking to myself "damn, these guys are way more boring than i thought they'd be. oh well, at least i'll get to hear pure morning."
fuckers. i'm done with placebo. i put a hex o'er both their houses.
I thought Placebo was fantastic. Got my shoe signed by them when they were signing at the Virgin Records tent. Brian didn't seem too enthusiastic though.

My bro recorded Bitter End and Meds, parts of it at least.
Had to sacrifice these guys to keep my spot on the front row rail at the main stage. They were one of the bands I really fucking wanted to see.
Adam those were so much better than what I got. Muchos Gracias.
So they didn't play Pure Morning? Sweet! I am glad I left before it ended then. I thought they were pretty cool, but I had other groups I wanted to see.
Here is the full set list

Because I want you
Meds
Bitterend
Running up that hill
Every me every you
Blind
Top of the world
Special K
Drag
Song to say goodbye
correct me if i'm wrong
bitter end was way later in the set.
I'm annoyed with Placebo right now.
I've stuck by them for years.
I've defended myself for liking them, because most people (yes, even most people with good taste and whatnot) think they're embarrassing.
But lately, I'm not feeling so keen on Placebo. First off, they cancelled their show on April 17th in my hometown like three hours before showtime. Okay, fair enough. However, they won't reschedule the show, but they won't give refunds for it either. So I'm stuck in limbo with a $30 ticket that their promoter won't refund (according to TM) because "They might still decide to honor the date". Um, fuck you! You didn't come play, so I get my fucking money back. NOW.
Then I miss other bands at Coachella (who would have ruled way harder) to go watch them play "Meds" almost in it's entirety and finish five minutes early. Oh, okay...that's smart. Instead of taking that final five minutes and playing a song the audience actually wanted to hear, like, oh, say PURE FUCKING MORNING or Brick Shithouse or Nancy Boy or English Summer Rain, we'll just LEAVE EARLY and piss some people off.
Smart. Real smart. I think I'm through with Placebo.
I've been pretty disappointed with their set list's as well. I heard this interview with them a few years back and they said they play new material to keep interest. Something about that is why they've been together for 10 years. I agree with this reasoning but there has to be a balance between what the fans want and what they do.
