Default So how much ground did you cover?

I think I set a new personal Coachella record.

I wandered more often than I ever had and caught a lot of great partial sets. Some that were made possible by delays of other performers (so thanks you lazy bums).

    Comedians of Comedy
    Charles Feelgood
    David Guetta
    Digitalism
    Felix Da Housecat
    Benny Benassi
    Faithless
    Evil Nine (partial)
Gogol Bordella (really really partial, I think just the first 'song')
    Bjork (partial)
Dj Shadow (why'd he start so late?)

    Pharoahe Monch
    The Fratellis
    Dj Heather (partial)
    Vagina Spektor
    MSTRKRFT
    The Nightwatchman (last song)
Peter Bjorn and John (one song)
    Busy P & Dj Mehdi
    Justice
    Girl Talk (one song)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (first 3 songs)
    Gotan Project (partial)
    LCD Soundsystem (partial)
    Mike Relm
    The Black Keys (partial)
Tiesto (I don't know if anyone didn't hear this, whether they wanted to or not)

    Explosions in the Sky (partial)
    Rodrigo Y Gabriela (partial)
    The Roots (partial)
    Soulwax Nite Versions (partial)
    Konono No1 (partial)
    Richie Hawtin (partial)
Jose Gonzalez (partial, way too much noise pollution)
    Paul van Dyk (partial)
    Air (partial)
    Manu Chao (partial)
    Ratatat
    Teddy Bears (one song)
    Rage Against the Machine

I've seen more full sets this year than last year. Some decisions I made are no brainer (I have to see them in full now) but when it comes to tougher ones, I used one other factor, I'll just seem at Bonnaroo or Lollapalooza.

You went the other way (pretty much) but I wish am with you (among your full sets) with Faithless and MSTRKRFT. Where are you (side of stage) at The Fratellis and Rage Against The Machine?

And no I decided not going by the toss of a coin in deciding between LCD Soundystem and Sparklehorse.

I wish have even partial time for jose Gonzalez and Girl Talk.

I was center for the Fratellis, about 50 feet back.

RATM I was to the left of the soundbooth (left enough to see the entire stage and both screens) but I was pretty far away.

I covered more ground than I expected, which is awesome because I discovered a lot of new stuff.

I covered a ton of ground, saw so many acts at every stage that my legs are KILLING me. Can't really complain though, it was so worth it, each and every move.

I deviated from my original plan a bit, didn't see some people cause other sets were too awesome to leave. Saw some people I wouldn't have normally because of friends and was pleasantly surprised. Over all though I think I saw just about how many bands I thought I would. I was back and forth over that field all three days, even running from the Mojave after Hot Chip all the way to the main stage for Travis. Nearly died but it was worth it. Oh and I have so changed my mind about flip flops vs tennies, being able to take off flip flops and running through the grass.... much nicer than feet suffocation in shoes.

I didn't see nearly as much as I wanted to, but it has taught me a lesson for next year. I'll be doing a lot more walking around, and getting in there a lot earlier

In the festival I covered a lot of ground. Next year I am going to bring one of those runner meters that tells me how far I have gone.

But the farthest walk was to and from my car. I swear I must have parked over a mile away one day!

I think the Proclaimers should play next year so they could play the song, "I would walk 500 Miles", and then it would become the Coachella theme song.

i could have covered more ground if a) the heat didn't get to me as much as it did, b) i managed to get to the grounds earlier each day (my fault for not trying hard enough)

Same here. in addition, I was constantly referring to the day's schedule and figuring out how long to stay where ... as a result I saw 17 bands on Friday, 22 bands on Saturday (!!! in the heat! after tripping Friday for Bjork!), then a more leisurely 15 performers on Sunday --I counted them if I only heard one song, but usually heard more. Really kept moving all 3 days. What a workout!

The grand total: 54 bands in 3 days! Yippee!

what a great logistical feat, to set up each band so quickly on each of 5 stages throughout the day for 3 days, Coachella--amazing!

    Standouts for me included:
    Hot Chip! yeah
    Busdriver
    Chuck Dukowski Sextet
    The Roots
