She added the phrase "meany head" to my profile.I hardly think I'm an attention whore.
Yep, my friend told me it's Radiohead, R.E.M. and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers.
the killers will not get me to come from hawaii.
but the chemical brothers will.
the killers suck
je suis un extraterrestre
saw the killers and the smashing pumpkins this past september @ V festival toronto......wasn't a big fan of the killers until i saw them live.....they were damn good.... not headliner material though..........they aren't that big... the smashing pumpkins were only good becasue of the nostalgia...........so if either of these bands play coachella, i say BOOOOO......
aaaaaahhhgagagagagagagagoooooooo
Hahahah.
Well, I heard that Goldenvoice already signed Led Zeppelin and were gunning for either Justin Timberlake or Guns N' Roses but couldn't afford both. The deal with GNR couldn't be finalized by the end of November so they were gonna go with JT but then GNR suddenly was back on the table so GV was still debating whether to go with JT still. Axl is demanding more secrecy than the line-up usually has, hence why we haven't heard anything definitive yet. But y'all need to keep this on the DL and you didn't hear it from me, capiche?

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks Tour for Trash
As we mark off the days until Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks sully our earholes with their Real Emotional Trash, we're happy to have another scrap of Malky news to tide us over. Filthmongers and germaphobes alike will be able to pick up and file through their Trash March 4 thanks to Matador, and Malkmus and company will take their rubbish on the road in late March and early April. And, unlike those dudes in the big trucks who wake you up every morning, this trashy bunch make a racket you'll be pleased to hear.
This current spate of Malkmus dates is awfully generous to the eastern half of the country, but more Jicks live garbage is promised in April.
Dates:
03-19 Minneapolis, MN - First Avenue
03-20 Milwaukee, WI - Pabst Theater
03-21 Chicago, IL - Vic Theatre
03-22 Indianapolis, IN - Vogue Theater
03-23 Newport, KY - Southgate House
03-25 Nashville, TN - Mercy Lounge
03-26 Atlanta, GA - Variety Playhouse
03-28 Washington, DC - 9:30 Club
03-29 Philadelphia, PA - Fillmore
03-31 New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom
04-02 Brooklyn, NY - Music Hall of Williamsburg
04-03 Boston, MA - Paradise Rock Club
04-04 North Adams, MA - MASS MoCA
***cough****cough***more dates in APRIL****cough****
I don't know if you know but the Guns N' Roses signing would include Slash on guitar, Matt Sorum on drums but no Izzy Straddlin.
I predicted Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks in the Festival Pool. And just curious, but why would there be no Izzy Straddlin? Is he the one who was on one of those seasons of the Surreal Life or was that some guitarist from another '80s band?
Hot Chip?
04-23 Portland, OR - Crystal Ballroom
04-24 San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore
05-09-11 Rye, England - Camber Sands Holiday Centre (ATP vs. Pitchfork) ^
hot chip has to be there for sure. especially with no announced l.a. date on that tour and being in s.f. on the 24th
I will be glad to watch this repeat performance
(hope)
I would watch that
You might as well confirm him!
M83 Reveals Full Album Details
Now that he's gotten his ambient kicks with this past fall's Digital Shades Vol. 1, Anthony Gonzalez is ready to release his fifth album as M83, titled Saturdays = Youth. The album is apparently focused on more structured songs than the Digital Shades material, though "Couleurs", available for streaming now, doesn't seem too reliant on traditional pop song structure.
As previously reported, Gonzalez recorded Saturdays with producers Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós, Suede, Cocteau Twins, the Sugarcubes) and Ewan Pearson (the Rapture, Ladytron). Mute will release the album on April 15.
"Graveyard Girl" will be the album's first single.
For your health
Oh wow, now there are tour dates. Someone in the know said a couple weeks ago that Hot Chip would play again, and I consider this even more proof. Unfortunately, I was told not to hold my breath for The Chemical Brothers, so we'll see
It's great electronic music, but more ambient and not dancey. I hear some shoegaze influence in it. Great music. I'd rank the albums as follows:
1. M83
2. Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts
3. Before the Dawn Heals Us
4. Digital Shades Volume 1
M83 isn't a him either. It's a band. They do have some electronic but last I checked they have a killer guitar player and drummer. Unless someone died or something or maybe I was really stoned. I dunno. I swear I remember guitar and drums though. They were stellar in 2005. A definite highlite of mine.
