    Default Arcade Fire

I am curious about those of you who love Funeral but have been lukewarm on Neon Bible. Did Saturday's set change your mind at all?

btw monkeys, "Arcade Fire roolz" or "Arcade Fire sux" or "Arcade Fire ruled my face" is really not what I'm getting at, you see, though I'm sure you'll post it anyway.

I loved Funeral, but have only listened to Neon Bible once through. I wasn't very impressed by their show, but I only watched online from home. I have plans to see them in Chicago soon, so we'll see how that goes.

After finally being able to see a majority of the Neon Bible tracks live both on Thursday at the San Diego show and on Saturday at Coachella I can honestly say that I do have a new found respect for the album after hearing the tracks live. I loved Neon Bible the second I bought it but The Funeral came out during a time when I needed it more on a personal level, which kind of gave it the upper hand, but I understand the perspective behind both albums and have an idea as to where Win is going with each album lyrically.

Their show doesn't translate well to recording. You have to be there to really get the full effect. They're damn intense.

I touched Win Butler and I had him singing right to me during Rebellion. It was the experience of a lifetime. It was magical. It was enlightening. It was the best damn thing ever.

    Period.

Heres one of my clips, I think it somewhat captures the intensity.

It's so great to get home on Monday and already be able to watch video of the sets.

Saturday's performance gave me an entire new outlook on the band as a whole. Truly a band that you need to see live.

Some things I yelled to friends between songs:
    "Ok, NOW I get it"
"It's too good, I can't catch my breath"
"That's what I'm talking about, see you can have a bunch of people onstage without it becoming the fucking Polyphonic Spree"

I loved all their songs. I was tired of standing so I watched from the beer garden. Lots of people did the same. They were one group that was enjoyable from any distance.

I love Neon Bible just as much as Funeral. I just love Arcade Fire and they put on an awesome show. Heres my taping of Laika in the middle of the mayham.

I saw Arcade Fire in central park in 2005 and I enjoyed their set a lot more...they seemed to be more intense. It was a good show at coachella...but I feel like they've done better.

I was a NeonBible lover before last Saturday but that show certainly did cement it as a classic album. "Keep the car running" "Intervention" and "Antichrist" held up against their other classics without much difficulty.

I'm watching the BlueRoom recording of the show now though and it doesn't come even close to capturing how fun, energetic and talented these guys are live (especially "Power Out" for some reason). They put on one of the most intensely emotional live shows around - I've seen them 4 times now and I'm always completely exhausted when they finally head off stage. This last Coachella set was no different.

I am blessed to see them again this Saturday in Montreal and I can't wait!
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.

It took me about a year to like Funeral because I'm anti-hype so I needed to wait for it to die down before I wasn't mad at it, and then I thought it was really good. I don't really like Neon Bible. I'll listen to it again in six months.
