I have been going to festivals for about 5 years or so now, but this will be my first Coachella. The set-up is a bit different than what I am used to. With events like Bonnaroo, you can bring everything in you need (including alcohol and other similiar supplies) and camping is right at the venue. While Coachella offers camping right near the venue, it appears restrictions on what you can and can't bring in make it a little unappealing.
What I would like to know is if its worth more to be closer (walking distance) to the venue (onsite camping) and give up some of the freedoms that off-site campgrounds offer? Or would it be more fun to camp off-site and drive in each day and fight the parking lines, etc...
Also, with Lake Cahuilla being just about all booked up, where else would people recommend staying off-site for someone who is looking to have a good time while at their campsite? Does anyone know anything about Idyllwild Park and the camping there?
Cheers ... see you in Indio
