Coachella Attendance

Anyone know how many people will be at this gig? Will there be over 100,000 people there to see RATM or whats the number like?

I think Goldenvoice said there were 60,000 people per day last year...but Sunday felt way busier than that. It sure felt like 100,000.

Ya, i heard only 50,000 total but surely it will be near double that. No statistics i can find.

no stats here, but its been 45,000 - 50,000 in 04 and 05. last year there were extra tickets sold and room provided to accomodate about 65,000. all years were sellouts.

I think the levels have been about the same since 04 (around 60,000)

There was only around 17-20,000 for the 1999 year

Well so it may be the venue tops off at 60,000 from what I understand. I know i won't be seeing them so that would make 59,999 if every other single person attending the festival (not the RATM concert) crammed in front of the main stage when they took it.

so yes, im sure they have a rabid huge fan base like many other well known bands but if a venue allows less than 100,000 into the show well that would mean the size of crowd would be less than that. Unless there is some new math that im unaware of.

I am not sure if 100K is plausible for the venue to accommodate to, but you bet your sweet ass that it is a possibility. Considering proximity and and the situation in which RATM has been in the past...100k doesn't seem that far fetched. Especially with the other great acts on Sunday!

I'll bet they could if they were playing in LA or NYC. The fact that this is probably their only reunion performance has a lot of people quite excited.

It's not going to be at capacity this year. The "Sell Out" is super misleading because if you go to online ticket sites they have mass tickets for sale at astronomical prices. Which we all know will not sell. The typical Coachella fan isn't going to pay $1200.00 for a 3 day pass. In all honesty, last year would have been more realistic being Madonna was playing. Her fans pay that kind of money. So, sadly a lot of people won't be going this year. The good thing is that a lot of those sites will be out of cash.

i'm hoping that placebo will play at the same time as rage so that i dont have to deal with as many assholes when i see my favorite band - im avoiding rage fans at all costs
