Did anybody catch their set? How were they, and what was the setlist?
Did anybody catch their set? How were they, and what was the setlist?
They were great, i dont know their exact setlist, but they closed with New York, I Love you but your bringing me down, they opened with Us vs. Them, and they played daft punk is playing at my house, and then i think north american scum and Yeah, and a few more
Us Vs. Them
Daft Punk is Playing at My House
North American Scum
All My Frends
Time to Get Away*
Movement
Tribulations
Yeah
New York I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down
*I forget where this was in set - this is a guess. I think the rest are pretty close to (if not) correct.
damn, i'm seeing them at the US Virgin Festival, I guess they'll have a setlist similar to that. I wanted Someone Great, Losing My Edge, and Beat Connection in there. That'd be awesome.
glad to see movement and tribulations though.
LCD was such a fucking party
i was at the rhcp par t. damn
tribulations was my favourite song of the set. i wanted losing my edge too but they were still fucking awesome.
I was not a huge fan of LCD, but coming away from that, I am a gigantic one! Probably my 2nd favorite performance of Coachella!
This was the set I anticipated the most, and rightfully so. They brought down that dance tent like no other.
their CDs still suck but they killed it live
They sure did, one of my favorite sets of the weekend.
Yea LCD threw the party down! I was really surprised because, yea, they aren't that good on CD. But live....damn, total fucking dance party.
Anyone else think the Sahara was one of the best stages this year?
LCD Soundsystem definitely knows how to put on a show and get the crowd pumped. I was about mid-way back for Justice and then got very close to the front for LCD. The energy in the crowd was awesome. There's something very appealing about nerdy men squealing over dance rock.
Saturday for sure.
i've seen LCD several times and they're one of my favorite live bands around. saturday's set in the sahara was a bit disappointing for me, though. james murphy seemed pretty wasted and sloppy and didn't bring the energy he usually does. that the show still rocked is a testament to how powerful their songs are and how strong the rest of the band is.
what was the deal with them starting late and playing late? they cut into The Rapture's time. i left the tent after LCD but someone told me the rapture complained on stage about LCD running over. anyone know if this is true?
some guy on the forums was saying that there is beef with the Rapture and James Murphy because they used to be on DFA, but i dunno if them running late was intentional or not because imo it was unrealistic to expect to be able to take Justice's stuff down and set up LCD's stuff in 15 minutes.
2nd best set of the whole weekend. I seriously feel bad for anyone who wasted their time with the Chili Peppers.
This set was probably #3 for me this weekend (Gogol Bordello and Rodrigo & Gabriella are 1 & 2).
it was fantastic and I'm sorry i couldn't see them Sunday night at The Standard.
No doubt. I ran into my ex on the way to see LCD, she was on her way to see the chilis. Thought it would be cool to hand out for a while, but then realized anyone who would skip LCD for the chili peppers does not belong in my life anymore. Ahhh, freedom is so nice.

New York I Love You, But You're Bringing Me Down was brilliant live.
Definitely my favorite set of the fest - but is it just me or does James tend to forget his lyrics fairly often? I thought he screwed up on at least a couple songs (incl. NY I Love You, which you really shouldn't mess up).
This is the 3rd or 4th time I've seen them and it seems like at least once a show he accidentally repeats a verse or forgets it completely. Kind of ironic since he's such a perfectionist and is always adjusting all the equipment and making hand signals to the sound guys during the whole performance...
Yeah might have been my single favorite performance of a song this weekend.
It was definitely my favorite set of the weekend. I especially liked his opening where he thanked us for our "diligence" in choosing his set. Had to agree with him there... nothing could've pried me out of that tent once he started.
2 out of 3 abominable snowmen prefer Coachella.
Here's a good quality clip I found on youtube.

Time to get away from you!
that shit is too far back. there was a huge pit up in the front, it was really amazing.
the energy from justice to LCD and probably the rapture up in the front of the sahara was just bananas. so much love for everyone who was up there.
