Default The Good, The Bad, & The Queen

So I don't know if any of you have explored them, but they are pretty damn cool. They are climbing up the list of must-see bands for me.

Basically, I wanted to create this thread to let you know you can download "Herculean" from the iTunes store for free this week. It is a pretty nifty song, so check it out.

their cd is really excellent! I wasnt a fan at first, but then i gave it more of a chance, and now i love it. Same goes with Arcade Fire...its just REAL music.

Blur>Gorillaz>The Good, The Bad, & The Queen

But, Damon Albarn being one of my greatest inspirations deserves my attention at this festival.

I woulda prefered blur getting back together for a coachella set, but the good the bad n' the queen will have to do. damon albarn + former clash bassist + album produced by danger mouse = interesting at the bare minimum. I actually dig their name too.

Blur is not broken up. Just because Damon has 200 side projects doesn't mean they are done. Graham Coxon should go back though, they were better then.

yeah, I found this album really boring the first time I listened to it, but it's grown on me greatly. I'm way psyched.

I'm interested to hear it live. Tony Allen (percussionist for Fela Kuti) isn't really felt on the album, so i'd like to see what he brings to the table live.

Hmm...I listened to their album on Tuesday and it didn't really impress me. Maybe I'll give it another listen. At any rate, if there is no one else I'm dying to see when they are on, I am going to def. check them out.

When I picked up Blur's last CD ('Think Tank') I thought it was kinda drab. But after a few listens I got hooked (like many albums). However, I believe to this day that 'Think Tank' is one of the most addicting albums ever. There's just something about the tempo that lulls you in. I've listened to The Good, the Bad & the Queen a couple times now and I'm getting that same feel. I've really developed an appreciation for Albarn's vibes.

I suggest - digging up the BLUR box set, (not the greatest hits disc) This baby is huge and its out of print now - but you can still find them - all of their singles plus b sides, it is an extensive and amazing collection.

the good, the bad and the queen has been stated to not be their actual name.
    they have no actual name.
they just decided to use it since they named the album such.

i'm wondering if dm will make an appearance.
he plays percussion and synths on some of the tracks.
that would be icing on the cake.

I was totally out of the loop as far as this band is concerned... and I really dig the gorillaz. it only took a listen to that free download before I bought the whole thing. great! thanks! I have a feeling they will be moving up on my list very quickly.
