this is will be my first coachella and my friend and i wanted to smoke a few blunts while we were there...i can easily manage to get the weed inside the gates..but my worries is getting busted by security...are they strict ? are their lots of people smoking like i think there would be?

Not really. I saw a few people getting escorted out last year by Police after getting fingered by undercover cops.

Chances are you can get away with it...but do you really want to be one of the few that gets caught?

Haven't tried anything, have you? I don't smoke pot, but there are some things that definitely enhance the experience to a mind-blowing, incredible level. People enjoy their drugs. We can enjoy music without it, but drugs can bring it up to the next level.

I have to agree with you there. Some may call it a personality fault, but some of the most incredible experiences of my life have been with Entheogens...and no, I don't smoke weed.

I can not agree more man. I can see how people would want to smoke weed at a concert to enhance the experience. But just like you, I myself don't smoke weed. It just makes me too tired, and it makes me self conscious for some reason. But I wouldn't mind dropping a few hits of acid. Some of the best musical experiences I have had I was on hallucinagens.

I personally would love to drop a hit or two of acid, and take a single bar to keep me mellow. Or even better, a few hits of acid and a hit or two of e; I guess that is called candyflipping. I would much rather do that than smoke weed.

But I don't need to do that to enjoy the music, but I guarantee you it would enhance it to the nth degree! (with n being a positive integer greater than one - god I am a nerd!)

It's all about personal preference and what makes YOU feel good about where you are and the environment around you. I couldn't score any good buds the first day of bonnaroo last year and really feel like something was missing when I watched Tom Petty ... however, I found some before Radiohead and they pretty much melted my face clean off! ... like I said its all about what makes YOU enjoy yourself...

I am actually a little bit jealous of those of you that can enjoy the experience without a "little something extra" ... you are truly a higher evolved people

That said, I assume Coachella, like any other concert/festival, that if you want to smoke and are not blatantly, stupidly obvious about it, that you will be pretty safe.

Truthfully have had "friends" bring some in and smoke the past 3 years. Just be careful and you should be okay. Probably best to be in the middle of a crowd like the Mojave tent. I've read stories on here about people being busted, but I have never seen it happen.

Yes I do. Music is so much better high. Of course, I'm a major stoner so anything is better high.

Last year I saw many people just chillin' out in the lawn smoking. But, yeah be careful. Like someone said before, try to be in the middle of the crown if you plan to smoke, I also saw a lot of people mix it in with their cigs and smoked it that way.

why risk getting caught buying, or risk that the person you are buying from will get caught selling? plus, do you really want to spend your time looking for a drug dealer?

from my experience, Coachella doesn't seem to be quite as "open" as, say, Bonnaroo. There is no "shakedown street" or unofficial "marketplace" or anything like that at Coachella.

Here's the logic:

Someone asks what a good method of doing something illegal is.
Some idiot responds with the little known method that works.
Everybody at Coachella knows about it, including security BECAUSE THEYRE POSTING IT ON THE OFFICIAL MESSAGE BOARD.

why is it every year on this board there are posts that have to involve drugs?

if you need to do them, do them but dont talk about it in the open on a message board. drugs are against the law right? so why ask if you can do them, the consequences are the same everywhere, they dont change just because youre at a festival. use your head, if you do it take the same precautions you would take anywhere else and just watch yourself. there are TONS of undercovers at the venue and even outside the venue and every year it seems as more authorities are present. last year before i even got thru the entrance i saw 2 people outside caught and 3 escorted out.


if youre going to smoke i suggest in the middle of a crowd and still try to play safe as some people get upset about it. ive smoked at some point each year and ive never been caught, but im not waving it around either.
