Because of YouTube people in Europe and South America knew what was coming - we had no warning.
That's the thing. I stayed in the Sahara tent during an odious set by Audio Bullies because I didn't have the strength to walk over to catch Depeche Mode (whom I'd never seen before) after the Saturday buffet of bands in the Coachella sun. I thought that Daft Punk might be a swell novelty because they hadn't performed for a long time but I wasn't really into them.
There was a curtain and the Bullies certainly were not spinning inside a pyramid of light. When that show started when that show started when that show started. It did not let up it grew crazier for what, 80 minutes? That was the best show I will ever see in my lifetime. They mixed two and three of their own songs all at once all the time absolutely enhanced by the light show with the crispest sound and killing bass ever in the Sahara tent. Plus, they're robots, so they got that going...
Please come back French (Freedom) robots. S'il vous plait. Merci bien.
