Here is a review I wrote after last years Coachella, it includes camping and the venue. See you at Coachella 2007!!!

Complaints
- TRASH!!!! - more trash cans, emptied more often would have been nice. It wasn't to safe trying to walk out at midnight, with no lights, and 50,000 people and their trash. I saw a lot of people trip each night trying to maneuver to different stages or leaving.
- Lack of Recycling!!! - yes there were cans for it, but most people didn't know they could use them (art), and they were not by the places you eat.
- Lack of shade
- Heat in tents- can be hotter than outside
- Lack of easy access to free water - water tanks by each tent maybe, instead of 2 for the entire venue. I saw a 30min wait for water by the line for 21+ wrist bands by the Sahara tent.
- Stage height- maybe 6-12 inches higher
- Exiting - very unsafe, needs more outlets in case of an emergency
- Not being able to bring water bottles in- empty, or sealed.
- 21+ Wrist band lines blocking flow/traffic of people between stages.

Solutions/Suggestions
- More trash cans, bigger trash cans, emptied more often
- More accessible recycling cans for bottles and cans. 60,000 people eating 2-3 times a day, plus 4-8 bottles of water, equals an amazing opportunity to recycle.
- Offer $.25 off water purchase for each bottle brought (up to 4, $1 a water) with any empty bottle returned at certain sellers. Less trash, recycling, and helps out those on a tight budget.
- Add more shade in the form of tents, domes, etc...
- Add more benches in eating areas
- Spray the dirt with water to reduce dust at exist/enter point
- Install fans inside the top of the tents to blow hot air out between sets when noise would not be an issue.
- Allow empty/unopened water bottle in, but require security to smell cap.
- Allow campers in 30min to 1 hr early.... hey, its worth a try
-Have a couple of people checking ID's and giving out drinking wrist bands at the main gate. Everyone is already in line, and it would be easier to have people walking up and down the line checking ids.

Compliments/Things to keep up
- Overall really clean bathrooms, exception is when men with small p**** pee all over the floor/seat/wall. It would be nice to have women only bathrooms to avoid this, and so that the men's urinal is not at face level when women are peeing....
- Good selection of food, price is rather high, but a good selection and the wait wasn't to bad (15min)
- Great artists from various areas of music
- Great organization in camp grounds, at least for the smart people that arrived early
- Loved the spot lights
- Parking balloons
- Hand Sanitizer at bathrooms, maybe next year add them to the camp ground
- Toilet seat protectors in the camp ground, maybe add them to the festivals bathrooms
- A HUGE THANK YOU to the staff that let us drop off all of our camping gear by the fence and then park. It saved ours backs not having to cart everything over from the parking spot we got. Hopefully, I will arrive early and can do this next year. Maybe have this as a perk for this years campers who come in before 7pm, when there is not a long line issue.


Tips for Next Year
- Arrive early for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!
- If you camp, grab toilet seat protectors from those bathrooms and bring them to the festival.
- Go to the Augistine Casino that is 5 min away (south east I believe), and eat the $4 ($7 after/before that) Steak, Eggs and Potatoes from 12am-9am (good size too). It is the best money spent, and as long as your back by 9-10am parking isn't a problem. We did this Sat and Sun, only need to eat once inside, and then a snack while inside.
- Bring baby wipes, it cools you off and you can clean your face/arms/legs easily. I had plenty of people ask for some while inside. It makes waiting for your favorite band in a crowd of people bearable.
- If camping, freeze all drinks (not soda) before you go (at least 2 days in advance), you will need less ice, and you will leave Monday with water/tea still half way frozen. I bought one bag of ice and I really didn't need it. Ice cold water/tea is the greatest thing when you get back at 12:30 am.
- Bring a lock for your tent, I heard of people getting items stolen, and a little lock wont prevent someone from ripping your tent or breaking the zipper, but its more hassle and its easier for them to move to a tent without a lock. (only a few dollars at walmart)
- Glow sticks!! glow sticks are amazing and makes it easier to see when you leave at night and to find your friends.
- Bring something to put on your tent so you can find it or hope that you are next to someone that does. The 2 pirate flags screw me over twice this year.
- If camping, get your ID check there, and avoid the very long lines at the venue.
-Battery powered fan for tents
-Air mattress with battery powered air pump
-Hammer or mallet for putting tent stakes in
-Something to make shade for tents (sleep in later)

i liked the .25 water thing. reminds me of this one time...

at this past World Cup i my ma' said that they charged an extra x-amount of money per beverage purchased and offered that x-amount of money to whomever returned their cup. this gave people insentive to go recycle their trash and if they just so happened to drop it on the ground, that gave everyone that passes by that trash an insentive to go, pick it up, cash it in and collect x-amount of $. And all in all, making the world cup a cleaner, and more enjoyable place for everybody.

Sounds like a great way to get people to pitch in and make the place cleaner. For broke, environment loving, college kids like me sounds like a great way to earn some extra cash by doing a good deed.

That's one way to look at it, I guess.

Upon leaving Sunday night after Tool, the polo field looked more like a landfill. It was disgusting. I half-expected to see some burning tires and dead dogs in the parking lot, Mad Max style. (Ok that part was a bit over the top...but nice imagery, isn't it!?)

I like that Idea. And there still would be plenty of non-water bottle trash to clean up later so no jobs lost (unless its someones designated job to just pick up water bottles... if so then hes outta luck)

No prob, I was just bothered by the fact that there was trash every where. I mean come on, we are not going to a monster truck ralley or anything, one would assume that more people would be eco/enviro friendly. On top of the guest of the venue, the staff wasn't doing their part by dumping the trash often enough, or providing more recycling spots. There was no choice put to put trash on the ground, or try to stuff it in the over flowing trash cans by the main food area (by the covered eating area with benches).

As far as paying someone to do it............... maybe that is why ticket prices go up??? The more overhead they have, the higher the ticket prices have to be to cover the costs. If everyone did there part, it wouldn't be that difficult.

I agree about the trash--it is really hard to dash around to stages/tents at night-they should pickup trash more often and people should use the trash cans! That has been my only complaint since the beginning and now there are so many more people and more trash. By the way there are women only rest rooms and they are better than the porta potties but there could be more I guess.
