I hope they play extra long so their fans will be far away from me.
they played alot of Stadium Arcadium at Lollapalooza
hopefully that wont be so @ coachella
Yeah, I expected no classics and too much new shit, which is why I plan on seeing Blonde Redhead and LCD Soundsystem instead.
no shit they will play more of their new cd.. that's what they are promoting.. as a band.. you believe every cd is like a classic.. I hope you guys won't be there so i don't have to stand by you.
Peace, Love & Harmony

i specifically hope NOT TO hear "californication" at coachella (again). great song, but too long & goes nowhere. or just watch the coachella DVD. i'm expecting mostly post-Cali era songs, hoping for several new ones... i think it's time they brought back "higher ground" or "knock me down" for special occasions...
-sighs-
well i will keep hope alive because that was the stuff i liked "bloodsugarsexmajic" and album after... not so much the last two albums....
"conversation is a game of circles and i'm getting dizzy-- bye"
I would like to see these songs played because they're classics, but they aren't totally necessary. I really want to hear some older stuff. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a great cd and I'd even love to hear some stuff that not a lot of people know like stuff from Freaky Styley and Mother's Milk, or Uplift Mofo Party Plan. I want to hear more of that stuff than the mainstream stuff or Stadium Arcadium. I think the people that don't like the Chili Peppers should really look more at their less common older stuff.
wow u obviously don't know that much about flea or slap bass... have u heard Hump de Bump? A song with a bassline totally based off of a song from Freaky Styley... incredible slap line. As much as Stadium Arcadium may have been a disappointment compared to their other albums, Flea has in no way forgotten anything. There aare a bunch of good slap lines on their new stuff. Feel free to bash the chili peppers if you want, but Flea is easily still one of the best bassist of all time.
Blonde Redhead and LCD >>>>> RHCP
I'll probably just watch some of their set, then head over to LCD.
now you're just being a dumbass have you listened to stadium arcadium through? he plays about as much slap on this record as he did on uplift mofo, and on top of that the songs with slap bass lines are making singles. like everyone's said a million times, please distinguish between opinion and fact. if people on here had the basic shreds of common sense necessary to make legitimate, rational, case-by-case judgments as opposed to retarded blanket statements this forum would be a lot more useful- although perhaps entertaining.
I'm not directing this all at you by the way, suprefan. you're obviously not a music slouch, and I'm not gonna have a battle of the knowledge cocks, so... yeah
I'm perfectly happy to watch a set of 70% stadium arcadium. frankly, about 40% of their last toronto show was off that record and it was awesome.
frozen pilgrim, you've said exactly what I was looking for, totally agree.
they're probably just tired of performing those songs......i wouldn't mind at all to listen to those two including "breaking the girl", "soul to squeeze" and "my friends" and definitely their funky older stuff.
2 of the 4 times I have seen them they played Under the Bridge...maybe because I've seen them in LA and they're from LA like suprefan said
Will they play Scar Tissue? That's my favorite.
when i saw them @ their own show in Albany, NY at the Pepsi Arena they played CALIFORNICATION, UNDER THE BRIDGE, OTHERSIDE, SCARTISSUE, and alot older songs,
course that was in 2003
@ lollapalooza in 2006 they played other side and scartissue
here is there setlist from Lollapalooza:

Posted up like Andre Agassi on the tennis court
When I saw them in January they played only two songs from blood sugar, and one song from mother's milk. The rest was californiacation or newer, They should play some uplift mofo party plan.
