I heard K of L kick ass live. My friend saw them at glasto a couple years back and got hooked on them from that...but Decembersists are also great...I'll let the beer decide.

i'm choosing kings of leon so i get a better arcade fire position.

i'll just have to catch the decemberists at the hollywood bowl with a 100-piece orchestra. darn.

i think i'll leave a little early from the decemberists to catch the last few minutes of kings of leon while getting a somewhat decent spot for the arcade fire.

I have never seen Decemberists live but I can tell you from personal experience (seen Kings 12 x) that the Kings are brilliant live. They don't have much charisma onstage (like say, the Kaiser Chiefs) but the music sounds beautiful. It really matters on what you want outta the day really.

cant realy comment on decemberists as ive never heard of them, but ive see KOL like 5 times and they are fantastic live, ive seen a lot of bands live and KOL are up there with the best of them. if you've seen decemberists before or are likely to see them in the future id recommend u watch KOL

i saw them at reading last year and they got a bit of a bad reception from the critics, mainly cos they didnt 'interact' with the crowd and talk a load of shit in between songs, they just came out ripped through their songs and were gone, cos they didnt waste time they probably fitted in more songs than most bands would do with an extra 30 mins. if your like me that wont bother u one bit, i go to see a band t hear their music not listen to them talk bollox for half the time they're on stage.

    O/T

did KOL release youth and young manhood in the usa as their first album? cos i heard that they couldnt get a deal overthere and made it here in the uk before getting recognition in theUS

based purely on the individual band, the decemberists triumph. i don't want to hear the new KoL stuff.

i would choose KoL simply to get a good position for Arcade Fire.

my heart will guide me that day.

I will be watching the kings simply because they are sandwiched between Travis and Arcade Fire..

Completely agree with that statement. I love how beautiful their transistions from one song to the next is. Its quick and smoother than any band I can think of. I hate when bands have to stop a song or add extra drums and strum the guitar to add dramatic endings. Kings don't do that type of shit cause they don't need to.

It was released here on August 19, 2003. I bought it and got is signed that same day because they were playing Lollapalooza in my city. There were three people in line for the signing. I was one of them. This other girl behind me said she tried getting the EP signed at Reading and the line was "massive".

They actually had a deal here in the US first. However, if they didn't have all the success they do in the UK they would have been definately been dropped due to poor record sales in the US. So thank you UK fans.

Well, I've seen the Decemberists twice, and I'd like a spot for Kings of Leon. At the same time, the Decemberists are much, much better than K o L...

Holy crow I just discovered the Decemberists tonight. But there's !!! and Andrew Bird / CocoRosie who are all on at the same time. I don't even think those Leon guys are real kings, either.

NOTHING however will tear me away from the Sahara tent when the Ed Banger / Justice boys bring their avant nouveau from 6:40pm on. I bought Arcade Fire tkts at the LA Greek thinking this might happen. I'll look in on Tiestochrist but probably end up with Cornelius that night.

    I cain't hardly wait.

Yes, my big conflict is Decemberists and Andrew Bird. You'd think me seeing them at the hollywood bowl in a few months would make the decision easier...but no

I haven't got the chance to see them yet..
    The new album is great..

    the Decemberists are great though.
