    Default NEW-TIMER NEEDS ANSWERS!

I am new to coachella this year and I am interested in knowing how hard it is to get up close for your favorite artists. And if you don't get up close is the listening experience ok from the back? Also, do people sit around and wait for their favorite bands? I sure hope not as much as other festivals because it sucks to miss one band just to be in front for another, but if the crowd is doing I will too, because I am a tool and my mom hates me.

yes, people wait for bands. if you are looking forward to seeing rage & you want to be anywhere near the front, plan on staking out your spot a few hours early.

Eff sitting around and waiting for anything!!

Go see someone you've never heard of, or check out some art, or drink a beer, or buy some merch.

The sound is fine from the back, middle or front. And only at the Gobi and Mojave tents can you get particularly close to bands.

If you wanna get to the front for your artists, you may wanna come at least halfway through the set before them. Depending on what tent you're in, you shouldn't have so much of a problem..try going in from the side of the tents, instead of the back.

Also, if you wanna try to get to the front for any of the Coachella Stage sets..its through the process of osmosis..just creep slowly past people..you'll be pretty fuckin cramped..but in the end it will be worth it.

Oh..and enjoy getting out of the crowd after the set is over. LOL

It's really not that bad unless you want to be in the very first few rows of people. Behind that there is enough space that you can just scoot by people. Certainly do not miss a band you want to see to get a good spot for another band. People did that for Tool last year for hours before, but once the music starts you can will your way up there and I saw people that had been waiting for to shows before.

well from experience go about 10 min before the act before who u want to see ends... once they are done people will leave and at that moment move into where u want to be. u wil get a good spot, trust me on that. only exception to this rule are headliners. for someone like rage u will have to get there hrs before. thats why the act before rage will have to endure crap from that crowd cuz they are gonna get restless.

best spot is about 50 yards away close to the center, u get both sides of the stage and speaker system.

    good luck.

if u do push be cool about it. trust me , i did concert security for a few years and 70 percent of the people we kicked out were ones who started pushing their way to the front then pushed the wrong person and there u go, snap!! then we would go in and have to hammer them down and kick em out or give them over to the police. so be cool. best tip. move slowly and with a smile and do it when a spot opens up. people are always getting out so within min u be very close. works everytime.
