yeah theyre gonna be selling tickets starting at 10 am this saturday. but they're only gonna be selling 3-day passes (for $265 total... which works out to be $87 per day - not bad at all!) and camping passes for $46 total. the camping tickets are good for the whole weekend. (meaning thursday night through monday morning). the normal glasshouse box office hours are noon to 8 pm, seven days a week.

so to recap - you cannot purchase single day tickets. only 3-day passes, and camping passes. cash only. the box office for these tickets is not at the venue, but actually a few stores down the street, at the glasshouse record store. so remember that when you don't see someone sitting in the little box on the side of the venue.

if/when you buy tickets from glasshouse, they're gonna ask for your email address on a sign-up sheet. LEAVE A VALID ONE. that's the only way you will get invited to join the coachella community (community.coachella.com). if you are already a member, you will also get a code for a free 1-year subscription to SPIN magazine. HOTT!

i'm also going to be purchasing a 3-day pass and camping ticket for a friend in nyc. for the camping ticket, would i need any other info from my friend (since a valid ID will be is needed to use it once on camping grounds)?

nope. the ID is just to prove you are over 18 once you get to the campsite. (oh yeah, camping is 18+).

I think I read somewhere that California doesn't charge sales tax on tickets to live events. The $265 is all-inclusive (no tax whatsoever) and still way less than ticketmaster. That figure was given to me by a 100% reliable source.
