I'm pretty sure they're not. Security takes away almost everything that you could hurt people with (or yourself). they take away cowbells. and i'm sure gas masks too...

Don't call it a flag, its your towel so you can sit on the ground or a way to protect you from the sun.

Flags are good for the campsite, helps to spot where your tent is alot easier, last year we went to Download festival, we had some guys put up a NO EMOS flag near our tent, was awesome!
