Watched 'What Dreams May Come' last night as I was nodding off...there's an ominous line by Cuba Gooding Jr. where he mentions the age of 63....
I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member...

Mostly, yes. I don't know Latin; is easy to ignore it when I feel like it.

Music just doesn't seem right when it's not coupled with fear of eternal damnation.

As a sheltered 11/12 year old, this was my fucking JAM.

I went to an Evangelical Christian school for 6th and 7th grade and was exposed to a number of absolutely horrible Christian pop/rock bands

This is one reason I started listening to alternative/indie/etc. music. CCM was so shallow I quickly moved to the alternative Christian artists. And they (and their fans) talked about/covered their influences like Spacemen 3, My Bloody Valentine and the Jesus and Mary Chain.

Also I'm trying to remember if I saw dc Talk open for Michael W Smith or Petra. Or both.

(Sadly) my very first concert was the Amy Grant Christmas spectacular with Michael W Smith and a few others at the Pond in Anaheim. I also had forgotten about Petra, which isn't surprising because in doing so I also remembered I didn't care for them very much when I was younger.
