    Default Trans-Pecos Festival (Marfa, TX)

Music, camping, art installations, and workshops.

Has anyone been to Marfa? I would love to check out the area where they filmed No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood. I hear it's a pretty awesome town regardless.

EDIT* Additional bands to be announced.

It's also where Grizzly Bear started work on Shields, and where the xx have recently been recording their third lp.

Yes. Just came back from living there for a few months. Holy crap, there were a lot of bands that came through for a town of 2,000 people. Just in the time that I was there:

-The XX just recorded some of their new album there. Played a couple free shows and debuted some new material at their "secret show"
-CocoRosie filmed a movie a month or two ago, also playing some free shows
-Cat Power did a free show during CineMarfa
-Future Islands, Mutual Benefit, Avey Tare's Slasher Flick, Waxahatchee played lived shows for free
-Saw Daniel Rossen (Grizzly Bear) and TV on the Radio walking around town.

Big art scene. Great food. Amazing people.

You should go just to visit the place.

Marfa is special, the Big Bend as a whole is amazing.

crazy to think a bunch of young artists live in a tiny old town and big acts perform there routinely.
