Lightbulb Past experience -- What to do when/if you spot a celebrity?

    Hi,

So my friends and I are planning on going to Weekend 1 this next year, which is the weekend most celebrities flock to the desert. Hoping to spot some celebs, but my question is, if and when you spot a celebrity -- what do you do? Do you say hi? Run up to them? Ask to take a selfie? Would it make them uncomfortable or should you just leave them be?

I'm not sure I'd be able to contain myself if I met the Pretty Little Liars cast. I'm just saying.

If anybody has experience with celebrity interaction at the fest, please respond.

    Thanks!

Usually we sacrifice that said celebrity to baphomet and drink their blood.

Here's a thought Goldenvoice. Start a Celebfest and have it the wknd after stagecoach and hire the cast of every major television show to get high and drunk then walk around the crowd to try and get noticed. Just be prepared to add a second weekend after the inaugural year. No need to book any music acts just concentrate on quality celebrity attendance.

How would you want to be treated if you were famous and out for a weekend of enjoying some great music? Leave them the fuck alone. Now leave the message board alone with this dumb ass shit.

Most celebrities prefer if you run up to them and badger them for autographs and photos. It validates their career choice.

I just smiled at them when I saw them. They are trying to enjoy a fun weekend at Coachella just like you are. Believe me... I was really hoping to find celebrities and I dreamt about dancing with them lol To be honest, it's harder to find them than you think.

In VIP I met ASAP Nast and ASAP Yams, I waited a bit after seeing them to make sure they weren't talking to someone else then walked up, told Nast he put on a sick set with asap ferg and then I shook both of their hands (Nast, and Yams)

I also met Tatum Miranda and chatted it up with her and some other people for a bit. She's a model, actress, and recording artists signed to akon.

I saw aaron paul, didn't do anything. although I heard he was super friendly to fans,
    I also saw P diddy.
I didn't do shit, he sucks.

Let them be...maybe just say hi and smile. After I almost tripped over Minnie Driver this year I just said hi, sorry, and that i enjoyed her work. Then went on my way. I did by McLovin a drink but just cause he was standing next to me at the bar in the Rose Garden. They are just people trying to have a good time and be themselves.

I haven't seen a celebrity in my seven years of attendance, but to be fair, I'm not looking for them either. My priority is seeing bands and enjoying the music. If you are attending the Coachella for the "celebrity" factor, I think you are in the wrong place.
I arrived in America's airport with clothings, US dollars, and a jar of gypsy tears to protect me from AIDS.

^this. However in 2010 I met Justin medal Johnson. He was nice. I asked who he was here to see. He said everyone; I told him to have a good time, shook his hand and went on my way.

Unfortunately there are not many celebrities that answer questions on this board. However, there are some board celebrities, and they might answer. What should I do if I spot Sonic?

I once gave Natalie Portman my spot on an unused speaker cabinet so she could sit and watch The Cure at Coachella. True story.

    That's what you do.

I had a 20 minute conversation with Kate Bosworth before she told me who she was. It was before Gorillaz in 2010.

Same year, Jason Stathem told my friend to fuck off because he was eating food next to him.

he isn't a rapper but he appears in many of their music videos and I think he manages them, helps with booking/promo

Honestly wouldn't notice one if they were right next to me. Having too much fun to even care.

Few years back saw a guy with a huge camera and asked him what company he was with. He said something like TMZ or Rolling Stones so I asked are there a lot of celebs here...he pointed out 4 that were right around us....I never even saw em...then again I didn't care.

I think it's crap they get their picture taken by companies while they are at a fest having fun. Let em be
Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this…and totally redeem yourself!

During The Knife weekend one, my gf mentioned to me that most of the cast of Pretty Little Liars were right next to us. I had no idea what she was talking about.

I still find it funny that in 2010 I (drunkenly) told Vanessa Hudgens that she looked like Vanessa Hudgens.
She was standing next to me in The Sahara early in the day, it wasn't very crowded.

What did she respond with? Be awesome if she just said "I get that a lot, but she is way prettier than me."

Haha she laughed at me & stared for a second.
Pretty sure she thought I was kidding, and then probably got embarrassed for me when she realized I was serious.
    Whateva…. haha

What you should do is worry about the performers on stage

Treat them the same way you would an animal that you cornered. I find most to have the temperament of wolverines, still washing my wounds out from when I met Danny DeVito

HAHAHHAHAHAHAA I'm pretty good I'm gonna chuckle every time Vanessa Hudgens comes up in conversation now (which to be clear does not happen much in my life). That is absolutely hilarious though.

I used to live in LA when I did my undergrad and saw a few singers and actors around. Nearly died when I crossed paths with James Franco during a freak rainstorm and had my hood up and was trying to cover my bad with my laptop in it. He was pretty much doing the same thing and we both just smiled at each other.
