I loved everything about this tent except for the sound. It was honestly so fucked for acts like Hot Since 82 and Guy Gerber, literally all I could hear was bass. I kept moving around the tent until I found a spot with half decent acoustics which ended up being by the exit on the left side. Posted up there for Laurent Garnier and had an awesome time, but the sound really needs to be sorted out for week 2

I didn't spend a ton of time there, but I was there for The Magician full set and thought the sound was pretty on point

Anyone else like the Yuma Tent a lot more last year? Yeah, it was harder to get into.. but it just felt weird this year.

I really liked the Yuma this year. I didn't miss any sets due to a huge line, and there was a disco shark. You can't beat that. The best sets I saw were Duke Dumont, Dixon, Scuba, Cajmere, and Nicole Moudaber.
Nina Kraviz was pretty awful. She was really sloppy with beat matching and transitions.
    Oh look it stopped snowing...

she certainly isn't the most technically-gifted of dj's but that set was well programmed imo (and I didn't hear any really glaring trainwrecks but maybe I missed that). The mixing wasn't tight but I also like fast and loose mixing (tho I wouldn't say she qualifies as an exemplary practicioner of the style). the low point for me, iirc, was her playing "ghetto kraviz". I know it's a big fest but in listening to some recent stuff it seemed she had moved away from that sound. just I don't rate her as a producer

Curious to know what it was about Nicole's set that you enjoyed. that sort of "techno" makes for insanely linear sets that bore me easily. it just is not, in any fashion, interesting dance music, especially when presented in bulk

maybe she's moved away from the drumcodish stuff and is doing something new ...

i am so sorry. i was going on info being discussed in the media trailer. When it was being talked about, "cancelled" was the word used.

As I cannot stand EDM, I have never set foot in the Yuma. I last set foot in the Sahara in 2007 ONLY to see the Happy Mondays.

You are wrong. EDM is term that has been around since the 90's. Just because it has now come to be a term used mostly for the big room cheese pop dance music doesn't mean that every single act in the Yuma wasn't EDM. If it is electronic dance music then it is EDM. Doesn't matter if it is Richie Hawtin or something as gag worthy as Big Gigantic. Still EDM.

The last thing in this world I would ever want to do is agree with superfan. Ya know, because he's a douchebag and all. But the earplugs that I wore all weekend were absolutely perfect. Crystal clear sound without all of the noise. Could hear everything perfectly and when talking to people I could hear them without them having to shout. Saved me in the Yuma

YUMA being loud proves the adage "all sizzle and no steak".

During Lee Burridge weekend 1, the speakers in the rear in the right were clipping like mad.
    I'd do suprefan.

During weekend one the speakers clipped a lot, not just Lee Burridge. Way to go sound techies.
