Default Windy Experiences and how it affected your favorite bands....

A lot of talk about wind, so I thought it might be cool to talk about how wind fucked up your weekend or made it better?

    1) A ton of bitching came last night via Pharell, and legitimately so. But there is a difference in how most artists would handle the situation. BACK IN 2003 I was near the front of the main stage watching one of the best shows I've ever seen by the BEASTIE BOYS. Main Stage, a ton of shit flying around, and it was hell for them. Mix Master Mike was lifted about 20 feet onto a platform behind the boys mixing it up and scratchin' tunes. The boys kept getting fucked up cause Mike's vinyl just wouldn't stay on the decks, tracks kept skipping and at one point the record flew off and into the crowd. One of the Beasties said,"FUCK IT COACHELLA, WE'LL GO ACAPELLA!" and went onto sing one of their singles in tune and they rocked the crowd without a second thought. ITS one of those moments in time you just don't forget. It was the epitome of EPIC.

    2) 2103, Sunday after the RHCP set, came back to camp only to find that everything we had had been devoured by the wind, but the shows and the weekend were so fun, it didn't even matter. We had good friends and memories to last a lifetime.

Thank you Coachella, thank you for the wind, thank you for the memories.

Probably the closest thing he's had to a real blowjob...
Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

2014 wind had nothing on 2013 wind. I'm tall, and was dying during Wu-Tang--sand in the contacts. Left during Chili Peppers. 2014 wind was bad, but not as bad as 2013. I stayed until the end and was in a tent. Heard 10 freeway was worse if you left earlier.

On the Main Stage, QOTSA had some electronic issues, but Josh Homme sounded amazing. One of the best sets of the weekend. Matt Bellamy of Muse was having vocal issues, and because they had to take down the speakers people in the back couldn't hear. We don't camp, the worst part of the wind was that the pools at our condo complex were funky the next day.

How about in 2001 when Oakenfold got all his records blown away?

If only Calvin Harris had records that could have been blown away by the wind. I guess that's the advantage of just pressing play on iTunes for a living.

Hahaha My brain went right to that one as well.

Also yes, 2013 Dustchella was WAY WORSE than this year for sure. 2013 sandstorm knocked me on my ass during and after. I was more prepared this year, bandana face and sunglasses at night was THE LOOK. A bit congested that night, but I'm definitely fairing much better now. Where as last year I couldn't breathe all the way through to weekend 2. The set affected the worst on Saturday was probably Pharrell. The Oudoor was getting the sand blown from the left side across so both the stage and the audience were getting faces full of it. And yeah you could hear it in Pharrell's voice by the end of the set.
