Yeah that article was a piece of shit.
Urb one was better.
1/2 that article was about that guy and HIS story =/
the urb article was wayyyyy better... it had insight and trivia about coachella i never knew + a really cool picture from the main stage facing the crowd that gave me that strange feeling in the pit o my stomach like I just ate a mouthfull of shrooms... "ohh $HHHIT i am gonna TRIP right now"
1 WEEK!
"conversation is a game of circles and i'm getting dizzy-- bye"
that was brutal
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.
What a shitty read =\
The Urb article was the best thing I have read on Coachella....
Ive got the demons in me, Ive got to brush them all away.......
yeah seriously.. I stopped half way through because it seemed like the guy didn't know what he was talking about.
By the Way.. LA Weekly got bought out by the Register or some other giant news corp.
OUTKAST 2014
Röyksopp, FC Kahuna, Télépopmusik, The Knife, RJD2, Futue Sound of London, The Avalanches, 808 State, Zero 7, Tycho, Mr. Scruff
That article blows. The Urb article was great, but still it was just a list of quotes from people involved with the festival. I still haven't read anything of note that was actually written about Coachella.
All the punks think that you're dumb.
The URB article is cool I just get a little annoyed at URB because a lot of their articles are just quotes but really nothing that matters to me about the subject, for instance, that article they did about how the Daft Punk performance changed people's lives at Coachella last year, it was just a bunch of quotes of people saying, "Wow", "Yeah it did". Really not an article more like space filler.
Since when is Kate a guys name ?
Not to repeat the same thing - but this is the worst kind of self-important music journalism out there. Even Pitchfork manages to be more inciteful when at their snobbiest and most off-topic.
The article in a nutshell:
First, Coachella is awesome.
Then other festivals suck.
Then he goes on to talk about why he sucks and and has a bad time at festivals, all the while telling us about approximately 17 to 18 concerts/festivals that he has been to. Because he is that cool.
So cool apparently, that he can no longer enjoy music festivals.
But we can rejoice, because he has realized that he can maybe enjoy Coachella if he tries real hard.
Fuck this guy and his irrelevant point of view. Let's all thank the better established music publications who chose to not hire him.
(I hope he doesn't read this)
im glad im not the only one who thought that was a lame article. i am embarrassed for the writer. did his boss not read it before publishing? ick

She added the phrase "meany head" to my profile.I hardly think I'm an attention whore.
I don't remember past LA weekly coachella articles being so crappy, do you guys?
Yea that wasn't very good. Although, it's 5 days!! Partaaaay!!
I read it yesterday. The quality was not something that I associate with the Weekly. I am hoping they do something spectacular next week.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
I'm from the Midwest, so I'm just going to Coachella so I can be jealous of all the sunshine and palm trees and awesome bands that I apparently can't ever seen anywhere else in the world than at Coachella. Oh, and to watch all the glamour! The glamour! And all the people who are so much better and better-looking than I! Thanks Kate Whatserfuck, for telling me how I feel and what us midwesterners are like.
Hack-assed Bitch.
Lamest article ever. He wrote so much about himself like anyone cares and whined a lot.
I got reamed for writing in the first person when I was in journalism school.

It's a little late for the La weekly to do a coachella preview. LA weekly comes out Thursday afternoon. I suppose they could but who knows, maybe...
And yes the La Weekly is owned by the parent company of the Village Voice.

And AEG owns Goldenvoice

But hey I know you all hated the article but I still enjoyed it. I didn't find it hard hitting journalism but light entertainment.
