Thread: 21+ wristband

    Default 21+ wristband

Quick question from a Coachella rookie...do they ID you for drinking age at the entrance when your checking in the first time, and give out an age specific wristband, or do they ID you everytime you go into the cocktail lounge. Do they give you another wristband or stamp when your ID'd for the cocktails, or do you have to whip it out everytime. Im asking because I dont know what the lines would be like if we have to pull out ID's everytime.

To enter the beer gardens, you will first have to wait in an age verification line, usually next to the beer garden entrance. Once you have your wristband, you are free to go in and out of the beer garden the entire day.

Yes, just walk through the entrance with a keg. It's that easy!

You might be able to get it in. It all depends how well you hide it and what security gaurd is checking you. The first year I went I tried to sneak in a water bottle full of vodka. It was wrapped in a towel in my back pack, with other stuff. They took everything out, unrolled the towel and told me I couldn't bring it in. He let me chug it right there at the entrance though, Which was pretty intense (warm vodka in 100+ weather). I told the security gaurd it was vodka and asked him if he wanted the rest, and he replied by showing me his flask and telling me he already had his own.

The wristand is the same each day. If you don't take it off at night it's good for the whole weekend. At least that's how it's been in the past.

I love how they have such a strict drinking policy yet anyone could just get a underage kid a wrist band with some creative thinking make it look right.

Of course the kid has to look 21 at least.

If you are camping get your wrist band in the camp grounds, you can't miss the bar area. If you wait until your in the venue, a line an hour long is not uncommon. Last year a friends wrist band got nasty and he pulled it off while inside the drinking area. On the way out he asked for a new one and they made him get in the back of the line. btw if you get a drink on the rocks you cant take the left over ice out of the beer garden..... fuckers.

It's entirely possible. They do have police officers at the entrance.

How hard are they? I don't understand your question. They definitely scrutinize all IDs, regardless of where they're from. I'd just use a passport to avoid any hassles.

well i cant take my passport because if i lose it or someone steals it i am fucked for the rest of my trip in america, but im taking my provisional driving license.
i mean can they recognise different ids from around the world properly, because every id card is written differently, and even when scrutinising, using the american format would be useless on them, as in you would read the dates wrong and so on?

Dude, I'm a bouncer and I'll tell you that it's almost impossible to tell with foreign ID's. ABC, who control the sale of alcohol here and give us our rules for ID's and what not, never even go over out of country stuff. They will probably require a passport and not allow ID cards or driver's licenses from another country.

just ask someone of age if you can have their wristband, tell em you'll buy em a drink. I flogged a few of mine off last year.
    They're easy with Int'l IDs.

Option 2 - get a fake ID, they're real easy to get in Thailand if you're over that way...
Recent studies at Yale have shown that being an asshole is detrimental to one's health. Professor Sweetlove, a Psychology professor, came on record as saying:
"Assholes and local desert rats tend to live shorter lives and have less consensual sexual relations than non assholes. It could be due to lower testoserone levels or a chemical imbalance in the brain but some people are just wired to be.... well.... assholes"

wristbands are strewn all over the place by the middle of the day. just strap one on and you're good to go, that's what my brother did all three days last year. but why? you're just going to waste your money getting dehydrated!
