To VIP or not To VIP?? That is the Question

Do any of you Coachella Goers know if it is worth it to Go VIP for this event. Most people say that General Admission is what is ONLY available but I see that there are chairs and areas other than G/A.

I wanna really enjoy the artists so I am asking any experiences Good or BAd regarding VIP as well as any opinions as to whether it is worth getting VIP tickets, wristbands, etc.

The VIP tickets are not available for general public sales. You have to be a VIP (hence the term) to have them. some of the VIP's can't make the event and are selling their tickets on Ebay for over a grand....i guess if u have money to burn and a Gf that looks like a porn star/stripper it would be worth it. perhaps if i was trying to get into the music/entertainment industry & wanted to network w/ all the ppl in the know, then ya...it would be worth it. but to pay over a grand just to have a couch, a private bar & AC...hell no! i have that at home & that's what i'm trying to forget for a couple days...

Moves to San Diego?

I believe it, there are already plans to subdivide the land for housing. A lot of other major events hosted there have already moved to other digs. I wasn't even sure it would happen this year.

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I'll miss having one of the biggest music festivals close enough to ride my bicycle to.

And, yes VIP (er Backstage) is the way to go. When it moves I guess all of my local connections will dry up.

I would have to answer that VIP IS NOT the way to go.

Maybe if you get it for free, maybe, and you are there for everything but the music - then just maybe VIP is for you, because mainly its a bunch of poser douchebags in there. Most of these people are not at all interested in the music.

The food is the same - the bathrooms are slightly better. You do have the options of buying cocktails instead of just beer. They do have couches, and some fans, but that brings me to the biggest reason why VIP ain't all that... its very far away from the stages and no where near the tents. You can only see the main stage, and you're not even that close to it - if there is another stage you want to go to - guess what - you're leaving the VIP area.

I never spend much time in there, if any.

I got VIP passes through MSO last year. I never had to pay, but if I did, it would have been worth every penny. Don't let anyone tell you any different. Why?

I have had all access every year. You don't need both. A main stage pass will get you in VIP. They don't give everyone back stage access thats why I said VIP is for people not important enough to get all access. Its not a diss. They don't want a bunch of people bugging the bands or hanging out around the stages. Heck they don't even give all the performers Main stage passes. What kind of access depends on what stage your friends band plays on. If your friends band is not big I doubt you will get anything more than VIP. I saw Brother Ali walking around last year trying to get side stage passes for his friends cause all they gave him for them was VIP.
