    Default Ipod in Car?

Bad idea? I can bring along some mixtapes I bought off of Calvin Johnson when he was in SB last month instead.

It's not a bad idea at all. People do live quite normal lives in the desert.

Being that I had my own Ipod stolen from my own apartment...ON MY BIRTHDAY...i'd say yes, bad idea to bring it and leave it in the car.

An Ipod is a poor thief's goldmine.

I was thinking it's a bad idea cause it could be stolen, and I can pretty much garuntee your car insurance won't cover it.

Also, not sure, but could the quite possibly extremely hot midday heat have a bad effect on such a piece of technology.

I mean I've left my ipod in my car many a time for evening gigs, but all day when you'll be far out of sight of the thing. Just doesn't sound to smart. My 2 cents.

If your insurance covers vandalism then it most likely covers anything stolen from your car during said vandalism. i know mine does.

but I don't think its a bad idea. Put it in the trunk or something, just don't leave it in plain view and it shouldn't be a problem.

I was more thinking about the heat. I am not gonna leave all my shit out on the seat for people to steal.
But if I leave it in a hot car for 4 days... is it going to be ok? Or will it get fucked up? I dont want a fucked up iPod. My iPod fucked up once already. I dont want it to fuck up again.

I take my ipod in the tanning bed and it hasn't fucked up yet so, I'd say - cover it with something and go for it!

There are usually limitations to personal property stolen from the veh or in a veh that is stolen. I know my company doesn't cover ipods, cds or any other extra musical aparatus that is not permanently installed in the car. It's best to check your policy thoroughly if you keep a lot of stuff in your car on a regular basis. Also vandalism falls under comprehensive coverage which is subject to you deductible, most people have at least a 500 dollar deductible and if they just bust your window and steal your iPod the damages might not even be enough to warrant making a claim and you'd have to eat the cost yourself.

We recently had a lady who had like 3 pairs of expensive Chanel sunglasses stolen from her car and even though they were worth about 1000 dollars all together she only got the policy limits (500) back and then the damages to the veh replaced of course. But Auto insurance is for your car not for all the crap you keep in it. Just sayin.

Oh and my company is not a shitty fly by night insurance company either, those places probably wouldn't even give you 500 bucks for that kind of claim.

EDIT: And by my company I mean the Company I work for as well as the company I am insured by.... I'm a licensed auto insurance sales/service specialist.

I left my ipod in my car last year and didn't have any problems with it. However, I'll probably bring my ipod with me this year so the people in my tent can listen to music.

Just hide it somewhere in your car where no one can see it.

bring it, but hide it when you leave the car. just put it under alot of stuffs, wrap it in a jacket or put it under some clothes or somthing in the trunk.

it probably wouldnt even get that warm leaving it wrapped in a jacket or shirt in the trunk in 100 degree weather compared to leaving it exposed to the sun in the car in 80 degree weather.

its not a dog. it should be fine. just use common sense
