I'm expecting the same. ACL's older crowd should come in handy this year.

It nearly fucked them last year. Took them 5 months to sell out Weekend 2.

    January 30 - Behemoth
    February 3 - Zola Jesus
    February 6 - Sleep
February 28 - A Place To Bury Strangers
    April 6 - Swans
    April 10-12 - Coachella
    April 17 - Clark/Nosaj Thing
May 8-10 - Austin Psych Fest
    May 15-17 - Psycho California

I honestly don't even think it really sold out. There's no way, not with how cheap tickets were going for on the secondary market, even before ACL stopped selling them...

For what it's worth, some guy on aclrumors.com is saying that these bands are confirmed:

    Grimes
    Jack White
    Outkast
    Beck
    Julian Casablancas & the Voidz
    Modest Mouse
    Tuneyards
    Spoon
    Calvin Harris
    Wu Tang Clan

I guess I could see all of them but Grimes.

Edit: Another person also said that they were told that the lineup "has never been stronger" for this fest.

Do we have our first headliner? Paul McCartney just announced TX dates in June but is skipping Austin. Something to think about...

He did 2 nights in May last year so I don't know if that influenced his decision to skip. If they got him that would be amazing though and I'd have to see him both weekends.

flew in from SF last year for weekend2 and had an amazing time. Seeing the Cure in the rain was magical and the Franz after-show at Stubbs was killer. As someone mentioned earlier, this is the best physical venue out there (including Coachella, Outside Lands, LA Park) and they did a great job with logistics (designated walkways, family seating areas, enough portos, etc)

It really comes down to this lineup beating Outside Lands, which at this point should be a given.

Eminem apparently just said "Texans come square dance with me, announcement coming 4/22" on his Instagram or something.

That seemed pretty obvious after he was announced for Lolla. They need a headliner that will move two weekends worth of tickets and sadly that's Eminem.

I'm just hoping they put someone great opposite him, like last year. For every shitty headliner($$$) last year, there was a great one

What a bummer re: Eminem. I mean, I'm fine with him as a headline-worthy artist, but that's a lot of money to sink into somebody I don't need to see.... at TWO festivals I'm attending. Oh well. Maybe he'll sprain his coccyx between now and then and they'll replace him with someone a little more interesting.

With any luck they'll put Arcade Fire opposite him or something like that. Foos. I dunno, somebody with actual songs that people can sing along to instead of just nodding their head.

So Elton John will be in Europe this summer until July 26 then again in the winter starting on Novemember 1. But in that break he has a random ass show in Vancouver on September 13. Does this not scream ACL?

TP played in '06, if we get an older rep on the lineup it's between him, Elton John (random tour date, probably more to be announced after ACL), and I'll throw Macca in the mix as well considering he played Erwin center LAST year and his tour dates have nothing in South Texas, not even Houston or San Antonio.

Outside of Pearl Jam, there's nothing there that excites me. And even with Pearl Jam, I saw them last year.

Yeah I wouldn't make this my first ACL. FFF is on my radar though. I need a new fall fest now that MOEMS has been cancelled.

Yeah, I live here so I'm happy with this, but I don't think I would travel for this. You should definitely consider FFF though.
