I am sure it will be fine, but I cant wait for your charts and graphs to show why it could be an issue..

Yeah, I mean they're both rock bands...best headliner they could open for..

9/18 Owen Pallett, 9/20 Conor Oberst, 9/25 Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, 9/27 How to Dress Well, 9/28 The War on Drugs, 10/1 Jenny Lewis, 10/3 & 10/5 ACL W1, 10/10 CHVRCHES, 10/11 Spoon, 10/12 ACL W2, 10/13 Paul McCartney, 10/16 Rodrigo y Gabriela, 10/18 twenty one pilots, 10/19 Erasure, 11/7 Rufus Wainwright, 11/7-11/9 FFF Fest, 11/12 Tedeschi Trucks Band, 11/19 Chrissie Hynde, 11/23 Caribou, 12/14 Fleetwood Mac, 12/19 The Black Keys + St. Vincent

Well, Friday looks really good! The only thing conflicting is a little bit of overlap with The Preatures and Temples early in the day, and J.Roddy Walston or St. Vincent. Tough choice there. The Preatures > Temples > Capital Cities > Lake Street Dive > Chvrches > St. Vincent > Foster the People > Blackberry Smoke > Beck

Saturday is kind of limp....Interpol is the only thing I want to see. How about that Lana Del Rey vs Avett brothers conflict?? Whiny dudes vs a whiny bitch. I guess I'll see Beats Antique?!?

Sunday is really shaping up to be a nice day, seems like most of the good stuff is all lined up, with some nice options depending on the mood. Reuben and the Dark > AFI > Cults > Gaslight Anthem > Phantogram > Spoon > Chromeo > PJ.
They heard me singing and they told me to STOP.

Looks like I'm going to this now...weekend 2. Pretty excited to finally check out a new festival. I usually only budget for coachella since its so close, but I had some airline miles and some friends who just moved to Austin, so it's working out nicely.

Man, its awesome that they come out with the schedule so far ahead of time. I wish GV would follow suit on in that regard.

So when do they usually announce the after-shows?

I could be wrong but I seem to remember it being sometime around beginning/mid August

The city kind of has a different vibe during ACL and sxsw especially. You'll still have fun, though.

I thought I was going to die when I first moved here. Then I remembered how humid Houston and Dallas are.

All the aftershows are accessible on that same website, not sure why ACL hasn't announced them yet.

Weekend 1: Beck, Mac Demarco, Spanish Gold, Temples, Interpol, Tune-yards w/ M°, Diplo, Tegan and Sara + more

Weekend 2: Paolo Nutini w/ Jimmy Cliff, Skrillex, Polica, Chvrches, Spoon, J Roddy Walston + more

    Weekend 2 got shafted.

Here is the full list. I'm probably going to do Beck and Interpol Weekend 1. Spoon weekend 2. I'm extremely bummed St. Vincent isn't doing an aftershow. I thought she was a lock for one this year.

    September 20 - Skeletonwitch
    September 21 - Nails
September 23 - The Zombies / Andy Stott
    October 2 - Beck
October 3-5 - Austin City Limits
    October 10 - Bonobo
    October 20 - Mastodon
    October 23 - 26 - Housecore Horror Festival
    October 29 - The Melvins
November 7-9 - Fun Fun Fun Fest
    November 18 - Slayer

OH Boy! Beck on Thursday ?!?! That's great, cause we are getting into town that day and didn't have anything to do.

The Preatures on Friday, Temples on Saturday, Interpol on Sunday......Whooooo hooo.

Second weekend looks pretty good too....wish I was staying for both weekends.

Thanks. Yea, was there once like about 13 years ago on a random night for work and had a blast partying on 6th street. There was a kickass band in like every bar we went to, and people were all super nice. Quite the opposite of San Diego.

Pretty happy with the aftershows this year. Definitely gonna do Spoon and CHVRCHES, and maybe Beck depending on price. Why does Jenny Lewis w/ Belle Brigade have to be literally during Outkast, ugh.

I have half a mind to email Annie Clark and ask her why she's not doing an aftershow. By the end of the year she'll have played 4 shows in Austin, none of which are headlining gigs [SXSW, ACL1, ACL2, opening for Black Keys].

9/18 Owen Pallett, 9/20 Conor Oberst, 9/25 Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, 9/27 How to Dress Well, 9/28 The War on Drugs, 10/1 Jenny Lewis, 10/3 & 10/5 ACL W1, 10/10 CHVRCHES, 10/11 Spoon, 10/12 ACL W2, 10/13 Paul McCartney, 10/16 Rodrigo y Gabriela, 10/18 twenty one pilots, 10/19 Erasure, 11/7 Rufus Wainwright, 11/7-11/9 FFF Fest, 11/12 Tedeschi Trucks Band, 11/19 Chrissie Hynde, 11/23 Caribou, 12/14 Fleetwood Mac, 12/19 The Black Keys + St. Vincent

I was pretty thankful for that one. It clears up the conflict with St. Vincent, although I wish it was her doing the after show.

I'll email her too. One of my friends works at a restaurant on south 1st and actually saw her eating in there one time. Fun fact

There's some good stuff on there no doubt. Just nothing that excites me personally. I was really hoping for St. Vincent, Real Estate, the Avett Brothers, the Replacements, etc.

The Replacements reunion have ONLY done the big money gigs. Not a single warm up show or side gig.

Thankfully I got tickets to Beck, but I can't get the site to load now. Thank God for presclinton's direct link or I would've been shut out I think.

edit: just got tickets for Spoon too.

Yeah the C3 site was completely down, thankfully the Front Gate site was working fine if you went there directly which I quickly figured out in time to get tickets for Beck, CHVRCHES, and Spoon. Beck was showing unavailable but I just kept refreshing until the dropdown reappeared after people's carts timed out.
