Exclamation BEWARE: Fake Frontgate email went out. SCAM.

I just tried to check my coachella account to see if my tickets were shipped and got the notice that my email address was not valid. I went through my old emails and came across one that asked to update my address from Frontgate, I clicked on the link and got a reported web forgery page. I would suggest anyone to log into their Frontgate account and make sure your tickets are still being shipped to you. In my case as of right now, until I can speak to a manager tomorrow, my tickets are not and good thing I double checked!! I really hope Frontgate can correct this tomorrow....be careful!!

Are you saying you believe frontgatetickets.com was hacked or that you received an email with a different URL?

I also received the change of address email, but the links were all from frontgatetickets.com, which is also where my initial order and confirmation were from. The order # matches that of the original confirmation I received.

The only potentially sketch thing I notice is that once you log-in through the http://coachella-weekend1.frontgatetickets.com/ link and then click My Account, you're redirected to https://secure.independenttickets.com, but even that shows as being identified as Front Gate Ticketing Solutions, LLC. It make some sense, since that is that section contains sensitive information and thereby needs to be an https.

Maybe you got directed there because you clicked on the link after the deadline to change your address had passed, so the website was no longer valid.

    I don't know, just a thought. I'm probably wrong.

No, an phishing email went out. The link in the email took you to a forgery page.

I was just on the phone with Frontgate and they have had a few instances. I forwarded the email to them and they are gathering information. I was able to get my information put back on the account yet they changed the address, phone and email on file. Glad I double checked and didn't lose my tickets!

Just called Front gate and everything is fine with my order. The rep I spoke to mentioned that there were a few instances with a fishing e-mail but that they noticed that it was mostly with orders that were on a payment plan. I paid for my order up front.

Given the email that Front Gate just sent out to everyone, does anyone here have any more information about this or any updates?

It's kind of dumb that they sent out a phishing warning email and ask you to sign in by using links that look like this: http://cl.exct.net/?ju=fe29177873600679771479&ls

    :\

The link in the email they sent out leads me to the same page that you would normally log in to if you went to frontgate.com and tried to log in....I don't see how it could be fake

    From front gate

Front Gate Tickets sent out an official, verified email the other night in an attempt to notify and protect ticket buyers of an alleged phishing scam. Please read the information in the email and follow Front Gate's suggestions to protect your account. That's just because they use Exact Target to manage their email blasts. Tracking redirect links are pretty common.

I received the phishing email back in the beginning of Feb. I was very suspicious so I logged in through coachella.com, not the link. But I did click on the link, and the site looked exactly like coachella.com. The email stated that I needed to read the new important "week 1 ticket news" or something like that (I'm not exactly sure because I deleted the email once I figured out that it was a scam). So I logged in directly through coachella.com and saw that there is no "news" section, and knew that the email was a scam. Yep, they wanted me to log in so they would have my log in name and password, and then steal my tickets. People who logged in and who don't realize what has happened will not receive their tickets, and then call and get the original tickets cancelled and probably receive new wristbands at will call. The scammers will sell the deactivated original wristbands to an unsuspecting person who will be screwed. Very sad...

    My reply from Frontgate

    MAR 05, 2014 | 04:19PM CST
Drew @ Front Gate Tickets replied:
That was not a fake email. Your order is fine. Your order has not been sent out yet. It will take a few weeks to send out all the orders for the festival. Once your order is shipped you will receive an email with tracking to follow the delivery.

Right, the email alert Front Gate sent out on February 28 was not fake. The email I received in the beginning of February telling me to log in to read the important "Weekend 1 News" WAS fake.
