Thread: How low do prices normally get?

Default How low do prices normally get?

A few of my friends are planning on waiting until a week before to get passes because they think the prices will get really low. Has anyone done this? Or is it too risky?

a few weeks ago the cheapest price on stubhub was $550, now wknd2 is down to $475. since there are about 2k tickets available i'd say face value or better is a sure thing.

The few days before the fest starts the prices drop to face and below.

Only issue is wondering if you are getting legit wristbands as you'll never find that person again...especially if they are using a burner phone.
Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this…and totally redeem yourself!

Last year was not typical. A lot of people who bought advance tickets decided to dump them when the line up was released. Prices were soft through Feb and March, not just at the end. I wouldn't count on prices this year dropping below face.

I've been following on Craigslist here in San Diego (one of the larger cities obviously) and there are probably between 5-10 REAL passes for sale; last year at this time there were pages..I wouldn't take the chance on waiting last minute if I were you. If you really want to go then bite the bullet, pay a little more, and have an awesome weekend
That's my biggest fear. I'm trying to pick up a W1.

Prices now are exactly what they were during early March of the last 2 years.

Just remember, there are 1,300 W1 GA passes still available on Stubhub, most of which are over $600. Nobody is buying those and sellers get $0.00 if they don't sell. Prices will drop.

Best strategy is to wait a couple more weeks and act fast on your Stubhub price alerts.

there are now over 1,500 wknd1 tickets for sale. that means they need to sell about 52 tickets per day, way over last year's average. another indication prices will drop.

For clarity, 133 of them are VIP. 1,347 when you filter for GA.

But yes, your point is right on.

Some passes for weekend 2 right now on stubhub for $445 each. That would net the seller $340 which is around face so that would most likely be the floor for prices unless you get lucky later.

You might just need to luck out and find the right person.

I bought my passes just yesterday off Craigslist. The guy wanted $475 a pop for two weekend 1 shuttle combos (which was already less than most people have been trying to get around here). He dropped his price for me to presale face value, $409 each, just because I mentioned I'm a cash-strapped college kid and I couldn't offer any higher than that. He said he remembered being tight on money when he was a student and sympathized.

I had been searching since January for face value passes and this was my first success.

Waiting will obviously help, the average prices will slowly drop. But look HARD and you might get lucky.

they'll be darn close to face value right before the events. don't stub hub, fucking serive fees will make it the price even more expensive. SH is a piece of shit scamming service imo.

i'm with you on the outrageous service fees, but you're paying for the money back guarantee that the wristbands will be scanable.

There is a new scam going on this year through ebay...I think I read it in the Passes section a week or two ago. Basically the person gets a bogus confirmation email or something.

There are probably legit ones but just look at their seller history and make your judgement. Despite the crappy fees-stubhub is your safest bet or meeting someone IN PERSON & at PUBLIC location off CL-and make sure to get additional proof that matches address like electricity bills and DL or car reg/insurance.

Buzz this year is really high. I mean you could get it close to face of you wait right to the end but is a hundred bucks worth the mental anguish .
