    Default Leaving Coachella Early

Is it possible to leave the car camping lots early on Sunday (around 1 pm)? My sister is planning to take an early flight out the following day...

Nope. All keys must be handed to security upon entrance and will be returned at 1am Monday morning.

haha ... your question doesn't make sense. She wants to leave at 1pm on Sunday for a flight early on Monday morning? Where is she flying out of??

You can leave pretty much whenever you want, you just can't go back in. Specifically on Sunday, they stop letting campers out from 10pm to 2am (I believe) so she'd have to leave before / after that.

I'm sorry I should clarify that...she is suggesting that we should leave the camp group around 1pm on Sunday so she can rest up and get on a 6 am flight back home.

Catch some early bands, leave around 5 or 6 and still beat all the traffic. Camping gives you that luxury. You can pack up your site beforehand, pack it all in the car and be ready to go as soon as you get back to the car. Don't waste a whole day if you can catch some stuff early on.

You can also go and drive to day parking as long as you leave before 10pm. Let her rest up in the car while you catch the rest of the the festival. Though resting up for a plane ride does not compute for me. No idea why she would rather do that than enjoy the last day of coachella.

If she's flying on Southwest, I would recommend she move to a flight at a closer airport.

I would just leave my sister at home.
Youth, you son of a bitch, where did you go?

Tell her to walk or take a cab to the airport.

Where is she flying out of? And are you going to go stay in a hotel? Leaving from the campgroup and at 1 in the afternoon for a 6 am flight the next day makes no sense -- you miss the entire day.

Seriously… There is absolutely NO reason for you to need to leave 17 hours before your flight in order to make it on time…?
    Like… what?!
You paid for the tickets to the festival, are traveling there, and you intend on missing practically ONE THIRD of the festival, so that your sister isn't tired on a goddamn airplane?
It's a fucking airplane. You sit for x-amount of hours.
You're not expected to use your arms and legs to fly wherever you're going.
Pretty sure sitting is one of the EASIEST things to do, no matter how tired/hungover/sore a person is.

I mean, ostensibly the worry is not about being tired on the actual airplane, but on whatever the sister plans to do once she gets off the plane.

You should still stay at the festival until at least 7 or 8.

I get it… But, sitting on a plane in some cases qualifies as resting.
You are just there, literally sitting on your ass.
It just makes NO sense to me...

We're staying with relatives in West Covina after the concert. I know, I told her to take the Monday and Tuesday off after Coachella but she's stubborn and only took Monday off to get back to NYC and do work stuff or whatever. Anyways, I'll talk to her again and see if we can compromise.

You can easily take off from the fest around 7, get to West Covina around 9 and still rest plenty.
