    Lightbulb Coachella vs. Bonnaroo

Ive never been to Bonnaroo but their lineup kinda blows Coachella out of the water this year. Has anyone on here gone? how does the size, weather, atmosphere compare? thanks.

I've been to to each Bonnaroo since 2009, however this will be my first Coachella so I cant really compare. The capacity is usually 90,000-100,000, the weather has varied to near perfect to miserably hot, and the atmosphere there is excellent - the vast majority camp so it's very communal. I'm bummed I cant go this year, but I'm really looking forward to my first Coachella experience.

The Coachella lineup is far better. The Bonnaroo lineup sucks dick by booking the most overrated rapper, a Vegas show, and Jack White? Vampire Weekend and Phoenix are year late. Lauryn Hill is a terrible performer and a bunch names that are never hard to come by anyways.

Does Elton John not perform in Vegas? Outkast out rap Kanye. Muse out rock Jack White. Plus qotsa, replacements, the knife, pet shop boys, and Calvin Harris for the bros and chicks

no, you donk. if you'd been here for more than 4 months you'd realize this thread is created every year, and, every year ,is an excercise in futility. why these two festivals have to compete in the brains of morons is beyond me. they are 2000 miles apart and do not cater to the same audience.

I've said it once, I'll say it again-Fuck Muse.

Yes, Elton John does perform in Vegas-that does not discredit him to being "a vegas show" Outkast hasn't performed in years, you can't say they out rap Kanye. Dude just destroyed a massive tour-your opinion is irrelevant here.

For the record, I'd be willing to be that 50% of the coachella crowd this year has never heard of PSB. Just like they hadn't heard of the stone roses last year. You're a hater.

This thread shouldn't be made until the second tier of Bonnaroo's lineup + their comedy comes out. Right now, Coachella is winning.

Bonnaroo is fucking gigantic in scale in comparison to Coachella when you factor in Centeroo, where the main festival is had, and the camping. My campgroup at Bonnaroo was easily 1.5 miles away from the entrance. The dust at 'Roo that year (2011) was fucking rough.

it amuses me to picture jack white contemplating, "hmmmmm how can i out rock muse this year??" jack white is kind of a legend and i'd imagine he fares pretty well in tennessee. he's based out of nashville. a smart book for bonnaroo.

i don't know anyone who thinks outkast is boring and a bad choice to headline.. i do know people who say kanye is an arrogant clown who is overrated. he's polarizing at best.

I would take the Coachella top lines over the Bonnaroo top lines in a heartbeat. For me, OutKast, Replacements, Arcade Fire, Beck, The Knife, QOTSA easily beats out the rest. There are a couple undercard gems, absolutely, but I think Coachella's lineup is better overall. It also has more pop filler, to be honest, than Bonnaroo, but overall I think there's more interesting stuff for me personally at Coachella. That being said, the folk, jam, Americana, and metal acts that Bonnaroo does a good job at every year are not really stuff I listen to often, so I can easily see how some would like the Roo's lineup better. Also think Damon Albarn and Nick Cave would have had more punch for me if they hadn't just been at Coachella last year.

Did this guy really just say that Muse out rocks Jack White?

Kanye is by far my favorite artist, but dude is on a tour already, (I saw him 3 times on this tour) and Outkast are legends and haven't done a show in like 10 years, plus they aren't "really" touring. I think that's the better get. I will give Bonnaroo Elton John and the fact that they booked Phoenix not as a headliner.

Hey, you dumb fuckfaces, why did you all let theklein's idiotic post about what lineup he likes better turn into an actual discussion? Are you all too stupid to see that the OP wanted specific advice regarding the logistics of the festival for people who have been to both?

I think the initial sentence in the first post of this thread is where the debate sprung from. If she leaves that part out, then this discussion may not even take place.

Edit: Also, the thread title sort of invites the debate as well.

No. She stated her opinion of the lineup, which sets up why she's considering going. Then she asks questions about the difference in the festivals. She probably doesn't give a fuck about any of your opinions on the lineup, but naturally, you morons jump on the opportunity to discuss which lineup is better YET AGAIN. Because apparently, it's a conversation that needs to be had in multiple threads. You are all useless pricks.

Sure, if you're the kind of asshole that just reads a thread title and then posts whatever the fuck you want without reading the initial post in the thread.

Around a message board full of people with differing opinions of music, the thread title and first statement are sure going to get a few people to respond to it in that manner. You should have already suspected that, you motherfucking asshole.
