Default I bought a Car Camping pass on its own...

Am I gonna have a problem getting into car camping if someone elses name is registered on my wristband?

I bought the car camping pass on its own during the on-sale and I'm planning on getting my pass in a few weeks from a buddy. I'm worried since they're not going to be linked to the same order that I might be turned away at camping.

Is it possible to buy only a camping pass from frontgate? I'm pretty sure it had to be tied to a pass

I was able to do it. Got an order confirmation for it and everything. I put a festival pass in my cart, added the camping then removed the festival pass from cart and it let me process the order with just the car camping.

someone else posted a few weeks ago that they somehow managed to purchase a camping pass from Frontgate without purchasing a wristband and PF suggested that they contact frontgate; however I don't know what exactly they can do about it. it seems like it would ultimately depend on the person checking your passes when you arrive.

Yeah, its tough to say definitively if they will or won't let you in…
Especially since this year its required that you register your wristband…
:/ Not too sure how strict they are going to be with all the details...

you can't buy one without buying a wristband so if you think you're being sneaky deleting the wristband from your shopping cart before checking out, well you fail having the loan camping pass. since it won't work without that wristband. lol.

Wasn't trying to be sneaky. Couldn't afford the pass at the time so I figured I'd just get the car camping to have that secured. This answers my question though, thanks meanie.

this isnt' the first year it was required.

some people get through and some don't. my advice is to do your due diligence with frontgate and hope for the best.

Yeah I'll call Front Gate and see if I can have them attach the car camping pass to my friends order. Hopefully that works.

if companion passes are still available you could grab sone just in case. i'm sure you;ll be able to find someone to let you crash at their spot, worst case.

Coachella always warns that they won't let in people with camping passes that aren't tied to their wristbands, but I've never seen anyone stopped for it. Seems like just a ploy to try to stop people from scalping camping passes.

I almost didn't get in last year because my friend and i in two separate cars had mixed up our bracelets and the passes didn't match. I wouldn't risk going in without the camping pass that matches my bracelet

Does anyone actually know anybody who got turned away for having a mismatched camping pass?

    Yes.

And like i said they weren't going to let me in. lucky for us my friend was 3 cars down the line and had had to come over and we had to scan all our passes so they would let us in.

As long as you have a wristband on and a pass on your car you are golden. As long as the wristband is good to go and has not been scanned by the venue then you are good to go. Could you imagine if they tried to match up all wristbands and car passes together? It would be chaos at the entrance on Thursday and Friday night.

Are you sure registration is mandatory? The last few years they just use their wording to make it seem like it is mandatory but really all it does it allow FB to track you better and what not.

When entering the camp grounds they only look to see if your pass is on the window and put a white circle of paint around it never scanned wristbands and camping pass together to check if from the same order

Uh, trying to game the system when you know the rules is technically being sneaky.

Any updates? I also bought a car camping pass on it's own and I didn't receive it in my package. Will they be sending it seperately?

Typically they send it in a separate envelope.
They just started sending emails for people with camping, so maybe you'll hear soon.
Unlesssss you're talking about Weekend 1, in that case I would call Front Gate.

I had added camping after buying my wristband, so it was a seperate order. I got the email that my pass was coming on the 10th and it arrived on March 12th (exactly one week after my passes were delivered) in a regular envelope. If you're weekend 1, might want to call. If you're weekend two, your passes should be coming soon.

they've claimed it was required since 2012 i believe. 2011 was the great camping pass scalp off, and in order to combat that they claimed wristbands and camping had to be attached to each other to work. anecdotal evidence suggests you can be turned away if they don't match but enforcement is inconsistent.

I was in the same situation and just called Front Gate Tickets. They told me that all orders where car camping passes were purchased separately after buying the wristbands will be sent a week later in a smaller envelope. Those car camping passes will be registered with the wristbands that you originally ordered.

An hour later, I got an email notice letting me know that my car camping pass had just been shipped. So they are on the way.

I emailed them today with the same question. They said that my pass is linked with the car camping.

In my experience they definitely do scan (not just look) at your camping pass and your wristband. Now if they actually care if the names match comes down to the individual security guy doing the scan. They scanned my buddies pass before mine last year and started asking questions since the names didn't match, but as soon as they scanned mine it was fine.
