When you guys take your kids to Chuck-E-Cheese for a birthday party do you complain about the musical selection?

Are you saying that Coachella is comparable to a birthday party for young children at a pizza place? Has your brain ever functioned?

I sold tons of mixtapes of it, the kids couldn't get enough. DJ Tron (R.I.P.), Delta 9, Lenny Dee, Ron D Core, Dan Efex and a few other DJs were the ones really breaking it to American audiences.
I liked a lot of it myself, especially the darker stuff, but I don't find myself listening to much of it anymore.

Hardstyle seems to be something different, more along the lines of partycore, which is a little less abrasive and more friendly to the ears, but I haven't been in the game for a long time so I could be wrong.
I was friends with a couple of hardcore DJ's back in the late-90's / early 2000's. One called himself Deadnoise and actually played several Insomniac events. The other was Forsaken and he played in Holland a few times. Despite their best efforts, I could never tolerate what they spun / produced. They would always get booked at parties and purposely clear their stage of people by playing speedcore. The only events they really cared about were the hardcore-based ones, but promoters would still book them for other events that focused more around house and trance.

Hardstyle to me sounds like Hardcore Techno mixed with some Happycore elements slowed down to a Chicago Hard House pace. I just don't get where the appeal is even for people who are looking for some sort of adrenalin rush. It represents the worst aspects of dance music from 1999. At least in my opinion it does.

Yes I do, because I don't have any kids, I think Chuck-E-Cheese is an awful little place, and venue doesn't suddenly make garbage music any more listenable.

Hardstyle has been around far longer than trap. It is also where lmfao stole their shitty version of shuffling from.

Speaking of, I saw 2 kids trying to shuffle to trap last night. Good times.

I saw Showtek at some touring EDM fest like a year and a half ago. He brought out a prop gas station nozzle that sprayed CO2.

I expect no less than two of said props at Coachella.

Sorry, I was under the impression that trap BROUGHT BACK hardstyle, not create it.

Hardstyle never went anywhere, and it never "came back" (seeing as it's still not popular in the US...or UK) the only place that has had a really big hardstyle scene is the Netherlands. australia has an alright-sized scene also i guess
