Default Craft Canned Beer (for the Campgrounds)

So as a So Cal beer nerd, I've been narrowing down my selection of canned craft beers to bring to the campgrounds this year.
Here's a few that i've been thinking about bringing, what about you guys?

+ Golden Road Brewing: Kolsch and a seasonal IPA

+ Modern Times: Fortunate Islands : pale wheat.

    + Pizza port: Swami's IPA

Also has anyone brought in a stainless steel growler into the campgrounds?

Where can you get these in SoCal? Does BevMo carry them?

Golden Road is brewed in Glendale and is widely distributed in the LA area. Most liquor stores and Markets (def whole foods).
Modern Times and Pizza Port can be found at specialty beer shops in LA, they just got picked up by Stone to be distributed.

Thanks. I'm definitely getting my camp canned beer earlier this year. Waited until the week before Coachella last year and just about all of the canned craft beer at my local BevMo (and Ralph's) had been thoroughly picked over. Gonna try a few of the above. This is a good thread for us campers.

Two places to hit that have been good about carrying great canned craft beers are Sunset Beer on (duh) Sunset Boulevard and Ramirez Liquor in Boyle Heights. Last time I camped I brought a four-pack of G'Knight, a four-pack of Ten Fiddy and a bunch of Big Daddy IPA.

Ballast Point has started to can their sculpin, big eye and a couple of others.

Manzanita has also done some canning of their Chaotic.

I am super happy about both of these,

I want a bunch of Dale's Pale Ale. That G'Night is killer, too.

I would also like open this up to people who would be interested in trading cans of beer in the grounds? Been really wanting to taste some of Cigar City, Founders, and 6 Point's stuff but it doesn't seem to get too far west.

LA Area- last night I found (literally walking distance to my house) Bill's liquor has a pretty solid beer selection. Decent selection in cans. On Glendale Blvd. in atwater village.

A campmate of mine last year had Sierra Nevada Summerfest in cans. I was very jealous as I drank my High Life or whatever I settled on last minute.

My only issue with canned craft beer is it seems to only come in 6 or 4 packs. Gets expensive real fast. I'll probably go half and half between craft beer and some GDP like coors light or something this year.

    I like this idea…

    Also, some food for thought…
    BevMo can do special orders.
So if there's something you want not available at West Coast BevMo's, see if they can order it for you.
It might take a few weeks to arrive, so if its important to you - start checking now.
They had to special order some wine for me that I discovered in Austin, TX on vacation.
They don't charge a fee or anything, you just have to wait a week+.

Might be worth reviewing the similar thread from last year to get a few more ideas: http://www.coachella.com/forum/showt...ht=canned+beer

Coachella is a vacation. If you're only bringing in 24-36 beers you'll only be saving a few bucks by getting cheap beers. Treat yourself and get the good stuff.

Cap'N'Cork in Los Feliz is another good store for canned beers. They usually have a good selection, and they have a parking lot, which is always a plus.

I can definitely get behind this idea. I work for BevMo in San Diego and am planning on bringing quite the assortment of canned craft beer into the camp grounds weekend 2. I am still undecided on what but there is still quite some time to figure that out. Most likely some Ballast Point and Pizza Port though. Anyone want to trade for Heady Topper, haha.
