At first glance, they were the number 1 act on my watchlist. Having had some more time to listen to other bands and read the small print for other bands, they are still in my top 5. Should be an amazing show live!

Their album may not have been my #1 of last year, but it definitely got the most plays in my car. Everything on it is just too fucking catchy. Had to bail on the Wiltern show for work reasons so they're a top priority on the polo fields.

Yeah, at first glance they were my #2 on my "gotta see that" list (HAIM #1 obvi), but then I looked at the rest of the line up, now they're #32, right behind Aloe Blacc.

omg, how young is the singer?

the vocal melodies sound the same for every song. I think a lot of these bands like this fall into that trap. lack of song writing skill imo. But I don't think they've been around that long as a band.

Eh, in her 20s. Not nearly as young as some other acts on this year's lineup. It's frickin Kidchella or something this year.

CHVRCHES good, looking forward to catching them at the polo fields.

Austra (pretty much same genre) better, IMHO.

You like CHVRCHES you'll love Austra, is what I'm saying.

I would agree with this expect Austra being better. They have the same feel for sure, and if you dig Chvrches then check out Austra!

I really enjoyed them at the Wiltern too. Fucking loud and much more bass than I expected. Maybe it was just the l.a crowd, but I felt like it should have been more of a dance party.

    Respectfully, I find the opposite.

Quite similar music, but Katie “Austra” Stelmanis has a stronger voice than Lauren Mayberry.

Love them both, but for me Austra’s the better of the two bands. Not orders of magnitude better or anything, just better.

Cool if you feel otherwise, of course (and judging by their relative popularity, I’m the one in the minority on this).

I love both Austra and Chvrches, but having seen both live, Austra wins automatically for those fun dancing backup singer girls. Chvrches live is a cool light show and three people who act like statues. Will be at both dance parties regardless.

The guy singer in chvrches was dancing during his song at Laneway and from watching that, it's easy to understand why they normally act like statues.

Austra reminds me of an electronic version of Florence and the Machines. But I'm pretty biased, so CHVRCHES > Austra.

Just heard the album. A little disappointed. Couldn't get into it. The single is decent though.

I love both Austra and Chvrches. Yes they are both electronic however it is hard to compare as they have different vibes. Katie Stelmanis from Austra has a commanding voice and is really something to see/hear in person. The rest of her band is good and has a positive energy on stage. The backup singers (Sari and Romy) may or may not be at Coachella, they have their own group called Tasseomancy that they have been spending more time on. Chvrches sounds great and has a good light show, I saw them in a small club and the crowd was going wild for them. They are a bit more static on stage, though that is understandable since they are playing synths most of the time. I am very excited to see both at Coachella this year!

Checked these guys out yesterday at Laneway Festival and they were one of the acts of the day at the main stage! They followed Haim and kept the crowd jumping throughout the whole set!
