It looks like Mineral is pretty much a lock for FFF. They announced tour dates up through 11/4 and have no TX dates, and they are from Austin.

They're doing some kind of party Monday night in Austin. I'm sure it has something to do with the lineup announcement

What are your reasons for not doing FYF? I'm in a similar position of being on the fence. I take it you don't live in LA either?

FYF has a good line-up no doubt. I just feel like they've recycled a ton of acts from the last two years. FFF has a bigger budget and has a full extra day. Similar style though in terms of bookings. Plus, it's a less than 10 minute drive from my apartment. Makes the decision easier for me.

    Boris - 7/29 - The Mohawk
    NIN/Soundgarden/ - 8/14 - Austin 360
    Woods - 8/20 - Holy Mountain
    Jamie xx - 8/27 - The Mohawk
    Little Dragon - 8/31 - Moody Theater
    Ty Segall - 9/5 - The Mohawk
Seth Troxler - 9/5 - Vulcan Gas Company
    Black Lips/King Khan & BBQ Show - 9/12 - J. Lorraine Ghost Town

Same. The recycling of acts is a large reason I feel on the fence right now. I've gone the past four years and last year I already started to see repeats. Enough with Death Grips already. It's those big name reunion acts that get me, though. You're at least lucky to live close to one of them. For me, it's half a grand on a plane trip. Really hoping Blood Brothers just tour properly...

Death Grips is a band that not a lot of people have gotten to see. And they're fucking great. I Do not mind them being at FYF two years at a row. I was really bummed they didn't do FFF last year as scheduled.

Completely forgot that seeing them at FYF would probably be the better option for some as opposed to the Hollywood Bowl the Monday after.

Joyce Manor is a bonafide three-peat at FYF, though. They have a new album coming out so it makes sense. If anything, they should have given them a break from booking last year.

I'm surprised they didn't book Simian Mobile Disco again. Regardless, still a good line-up. Just not worth traveling for for me personally.

Anyway, I wonder how much crossover there will be with FYF.

I'm pretty sure FFF has all the FYF stuff that I am interested in, which is mostly the reunions.

Do all the sets at Fun Fun Fun get an hour? I feel like someone was complaining about the Television not getting a long enough set time like a 40 minute set to me recently.

What kind of set should be expected from Slowdive this year? More Souvlaki? More Pygmalion? Does anyone know? Do they even know...?

    ?

Edit: Hell, their first show is in two days. Maybe we'll get some kind of idea then

The bands with the lowest billing got 30 (I haven't heard of any of these bands). Everyone else got 45-75 minutes or so.

Nice start. I'm very interested in seeing Neutral Milk Hotel again. I liked their Coachella set, but it was littered with sound issues. Also, Nas was excellent at Coachella and I'd happily see him again.

Rolling Stone has some of the line up.

    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...dline-20140519

Judas Priest, Nas, Neutral Mlik Hotel, Death Cab For Cutie at the top.

As with previous years, the rest of the festival boasts a typically diverse music lineup, spanning rock, R&B and dance. The Orange Stage will feature Yo La Tengo, Alt-J, The New Pornographers, Dinosaur Jr., First Aid Kit, Guided By Voices, City and Colour, Failure, Dum Dum Girls and Foxygen, among others.

The Blue Stage will exhibit Girl Talk, 2 Chainz, Atmosphere, Flying Lotus, Sky Ferreira, The Presets, Gary Numan, Cashmere Cat, Ginuwine, Z-Trip, Run The Jewels (El-P/Killer Mike) and more.

The Black Stage will showcase Death From Above 1979, Rocket From The Crypt, Death Grips, Gorilla Biscuits, Black Lips, Hot Water Music, Iceage, Sick of It All, Deafheaven and Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, among others.

Are Alt-J really that popular to earn a headline spot? Other than that, this lineup is fucking amazing.
