Is that main stage pic from the street? I wonder if they'll cover the gate. Or else, free show for people if they stand outside the Fest!

Yes, driving on MLK. I have to think they'll cover up the fence. There may be a few yellow-shirted folks saying "move along, nothing to see here."

Btw, it's a haul from the lawn to the main, or the lawn to anywhere for that matter.

I am displeased that I have to work in Palmdale (!!) Saturday morning, but hopefully will not miss much. I'll see y'all for hangover drinks Sunday though.
At least in *my* awesome opinion.

No shit. I had this nice neat schedule - 4 appts, 10-12, half hour each. Then immediately two rescheduled for like 12:30 and 1. Those fuckers better show up.

Maybe longer. The Coliseum is smack in between, so you have to walk around it. It depends on whether they let you in the Coliseum grounds.

They are. The bathrooms of the Coliseum concourse are going to be put into use, so I imagine they will be utilizing a bunch of that space for things.

We're staying at the Vagabond Sat night only, driving back to SD right after the fest on Sunday, which means we can't park in the motel lot after we check out on Sunday day. Are there any free parking spaces on the street in the area that we can sneak into on Sunday morning? Or any good, cheap lots? When I check parkopedia it gives me a list of area lots, but little concrete info on them like rates/hours, etc. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Do you know that for sure? We're doing the same thing but I didn't even think about it, bleh.

Edit: I just called and they said it wouldn't be a problem to park there Sunday.

This girl that I know who's going to USC tells me they're doing some sort of orientation thing in the Coliseum this weekend, so maybe those bathrooms around the Coliseum are going to be on the outside?

FYF specifically said that they would be using indoor bathrooms of the Coliseum. That still leaves a lot of space for whatever else for USC to do there though.

Awesome. I'm always loath to do things like that because motel lots tend to be small, and staying there wouldn't leave room for incoming guests. But since they're giving it the okay...

Looks like they have 72 rooms and 97 parking spaces, so I guess they have a little wiggle room I'm going to double check when I check in, just to be sure.

Ah, missed that bit, thank you

How much would that suck to have your schools orientation literally right next to the fest

I have an extra GA weekend pass that I'm selling for face value (140) or thereabouts. DM me if interested. Can meet up on the Westside tomorrow afternoon or central LA tomorrow night.

Edit: This pass has been taken.

You shouldve seen it for Daft in 2007. The whole place was boardies.

Almost 3/4 mile from Lawn stage to Main. You can measure the distance on googlemaps if you like. Where as from Carrie stage ( main ) to Miranda Stage ( opposite end ) last year was about half the distance.

The map makes it look like you have to approach the Main Stage from the east, going around the other side of the Arena. It doesn't look like there's public access anywhere west of the Arena.

I'm guessing we can cut through the Arena, though. As best I could configure it, Google Maps estimates it would take ten minutes to get from the Main to the Lawn.

Its kind of a far walk from the lawn to the main, was gonna catch half of flyo then - the strokes but I might just skip flyo and camp out for a good spot. And I doubt there gonna open up the inside of the Coliseum to just cut thru, they might but I doubt it.

It would just make more sense to just have bands play the Coliseum as they main stage if they were gonna open it. Im not sure where the indoor bathroms are but im guessing the on sides of the coliseum or upstairs. When they had EDC there, I think they had some kind of tarp covering up the grass and porta potties on the floor of the coliseum.

So, USC isn't doing any orientations at the Coliseum, but the football team is practicing there on Saturday at 2pm. I imagine it won't be an open practice, but that shouldn't stop folks from being able to use the bathrooms on the lower concourse.
