Will the new venue have beer jails? Is that just inevitable for all the non-country festivals in CA?
That's great news about craft beer. I just hope they don't run out of almost everything around 6 p.m. Sunday like last year.
Thank all that is fuk for the craft beer announcement. I'm not sure I could handle Stella/Heineken for the entire thing. Of course... we'll always have bags o whiskey. Warm bags of whiskey.

The tiny white letters on light yellow was a terrible color scheme tho' they need to make them darker next yr. At first I couldn't read if I had a 6 or 8.
That's what supredouche does

I am really hoping it's where they arrest people and force them to drink beer in a cage.
my idea is better.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but headliners will be outside.
I hazily remember hearing something (like maybe Sean hinting at it on the radio when he released the lineup) about like, the indoor part of this festival being a cool dark place for dance music, but then I dismissed that idea because it seemed as though the headliners would inevitably be inside.

That is very surprising! I am super curious about how all this is going to happen.
FYF has also announced the following:
All Metro lines will be running until 2am both nights.
As well as inside the sports area, they will be using the real bathrooms in the concourse of the Coliseum, which is super cool.
The app will be available probably some time this week.
Yay for outdoor headliners and running water!
Had they stopped the 2am Friday and Saturday Metro service? I thought that was still going. No matter, if only they couldve pulled off the deal that HARD had with the city and all festival attendees had free train fare for the weekend, that would make pretty much everyone take it.
The outside thing is really interesting. That changes the set up a lot. The arena ends up being the de facto "tent" now. So will they place somebody like Flying Lotus in there for example? It would work well if he had his full production and whatnot. Then there is no worry about daylight and having to put him in a night time slot regardless. Also, any potential logistical nightmares of having the headliners in the arena are gone. Cause you could imagine the shit storm of people trying to get to the floor, and if it hits capacity, theres gonna be problems.
The Metro always runs late on Fridays and Saturdays, yes, but it's a special case to have them run late on Sundays.
I also doubt saving everybody $3 would make everybody use it. It's pretty amazing how many people just absolutely refuse to take public transportation. But anyway, with the implementation of the mechanized turnstiles now in place for all lines, it would be impossible to offer free rail to festival-goers.

Dance acts in the arena is probably the best way to take advantage of it.

Glad the headliners are outside! I would of been pissed and tried jumping the rail if they cut capacity to floor during Strokes or Interpol.
Bummed that caribou and john talabot may be in the arena. Can't see that space working well, even for the dance acts.
