Bumblebee, can we get your assessment of these recent developments?
11/14/14 - Death From Above 1979 @ Regent // 11/16/14 - Lucero @ Echo
nice. we're booked Saturday and Sunday. we'll have to mix some cocktails before hand.
Just got my ticket on layaway!
I am actually super thrilled about seeing the Strokes. As my expectations were very low for their latest album and was liking a few songs on it. Yet they are still 2nd over Blood Orange. Which Dev Hydes said that the tour for Cupid Deluxe is over besides a few one off shows.
Strokes at Coachella 2011 really bored me, but I'd be willing to give them another chance. Blood Brothers vs The Strokes, do we think that could happen? I feel like they'd be before or after on the same stage.
I actually really enjoyed the Strokes at Coachella 2011. My only real complaint was the Kanye campers. I hate their last few albums as much as anyone else (actually, they have some die-hard defenders for some reason), but whereas I doubt I'll watch more than 30 minutes of Phoenix, I'm pretty excited to see The Strokes again.
Staying the fuck away from the Voidz set, though. I learned my lesson with that already.
I remember when built to spill played this at this ain't no picnic...
amazing. never thought the day would come that Built to Spill would cover of all people, Macy Gray. not bad.
The Strokes - May 31
I wish they played All the Time instead of One Way Trigger. Glad to see Angles was dropped.

I didn't care for Angles either, but I did love "Machu Picchu"! Dying to hear that live...
And "nay" on switching out "One Way Trigger"!!
They covered Free Bird at their most recent show in San Diego.
I've only seen Built To Spill once - last year at the Sub-Pop 25 Year anniversary block party - and they were spectacular. Tons of energy, sounded phenomenal, and they looked like they were having a blast. I had some friends who saw them in Vancouver a day or two earlier and they said the same thing. Perhaps they are a hit and miss live band? I don't know, but when I saw them last year I loved it.
Also, that Macy Grey cover is amazing.
That cover of Third Uncle was what first got me into Built to Spill back at the first year of Treasure Island. I've seen them 4 times now and every time has been a blast.

Anyone keeping tabs on poster/lineup changes? I noticed Kindness is listed for Saturday on the website's lineup list, but is listed for Sunday on the poster, which is kind of a bummer since Saturday was already supremely stacked.
