Isn't that the motto for EDC?

Last year it was totally worth it. The beer gardens and restroom lines throughout the rest of the festival were a giant clusterfuck. I never waited more than 30 seconds for a bathroom in VIP... and don't think I ever waited for a beer.

Just finally saw the line up and yeah this looks like it's going to be my first FYF. Since I haven't even been to Coachella in a few years now and haven't seen Phoenix since the first time the played OSL I'm not even upset they are headlining.

Consider this noq. The whole arena being open means all of those restrooms that are not portopotties will be at the crowds disposal. PLUS portopotties in other areas. I think they will not have a restroom issue this year just based on that.

Yeah... that's really the big question... It's hard to say if this year will be worth it with the change in venue.

If I only see Against Me!(number 1 for the weekend), Albert Hammond JR, Interpol, Man Man on Satuday I'm good. FYF, please don't let them conflict!

What about the special entrances, viewing areas etc.? Any value there?

There was a VIP entrance last year. I assume there will be on this year. The viewing area was just from the VIP spot, it wasn't spectacular. Again, it's a different venue so it's hard to say.

Yeah I'll probably just get GA again. I had a fine time last year, but the festival is pretty affordable and the VIP upgrade is not that big of a hike. Figured I'd ask around to see if it was worth it.

Boy, this isn't my week here.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Conflicts for Saturday will be tough. I'm oddly excited for Phoenix because I'd never go out of my way to see them at their own shows. And I was pretty impressed by their headline gig at Coachella.

This made me think of the coliseum restrooms at a EDC event. I had to take a major dump. No stall doors, just dividers. My shoes were getting soaked with the water on the floor. I'll never forget that last stall. Someone had put the top portion of a pair of brown corduroy pants inside the bowl and the leg section was over the bowl to make it seem like a pair of legs then who knows how many people shitted on top of the pants and made a mountain that was maybe an inch outside of the bowl.

Love the Cool Hand Duck! That drink is served in a mug so awesome, they make you leave your license with them so you don't steal it.

I think you're overselling the cool factor of said mug.

Yeah but, 100,000 people vs 25,000 is what youre talking. PLUS, its not just the first floor restrooms. Thats all that was open at EDC remember? You have to go downstairs to get to the floor of the arena, so thats a whole other section of restrooms.

So I just noticed they axed the comedy portion of the fest.

    7/1 - Deafheaven @ The Casbah
    7/11 - Cloud Nothings @ Soda Bar
7/19 - Wolves In The Throne Room @ Che Cafe
8/5 - Arcade Fire, Spoon, Dan Deacon @ Sleeptrain Amphitheater
8/21 - NIN, Soundgarden, Death Grips @ Sleeptrain Amphitheater
    8/22 - Future Islands @ Irenic
    8/23~24 - FYF

I thought I saw a version of the poster that said and more, but I guess not. And even with the same late start, it wouldve been the same as last year.

So if anyone was paying attention, its gonna change over to wristbands now. So, whats the deal gonna be when you buy in person? Are they gonna take your info down and send it to front gate? Thus continues a whole other mess for next week in regards to questions.

I'm okay with wristbands. I can't remember if FYF sent one or two tickets the last couple years, but keeping your ticket safe and non-crumpled at multi-day fests like Outside Lands is a pain.

I'll probably still see Phoenix unless there's a Slowdive conflict. They're a reliably good live act. I'm just apathetic towards Phoenix not only because they've played everywhere in the last year, but when you have a fairly unique grab in The Strokes and various exclusive reunions on the second line, they're an unusually stale pick for FYF.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sold tickets that you exchanged for wristbands in person at the venue. I guess we will find out.
